Interesting quote from Buck today regarding Gallardo's impending return. Gallardo has been on the DL since April and is due to make one last rehab start tomorrow before being activated. Buck said that regardless of how he performs he will get his spot in the rotation back, "All he's got to do is show up, be breathing, and he's in it." Not a very subtle critique of the O's starting rotation as it currently stands.:rolleyes2:{eek3} -- Al

Sounds like something from the movie Major League with Charlie Sheen and Tom Berenger!

What was the promotion they were running at the ballpark, was it "Come dressed as an empty red seat and get a free seat cushion" day?

"Don't feel bad, that home run wouldn't have been out of alot of other parks"..........."Oh yeah, name one".............."Yellowstone"..............get me everytime.............

Wright gets demoted last week back to triple A ball gets recalled after 1 day and gets back in the rotation and kills the Royals last nite!!!! so can we send Ubaldo down today??:) oh that's right he's pitching tonite, if I'm Buck after the first hit/walk pull him...Sammy

Hard to believe Wright was the same guy they just demoted. Nothing like a little minor league experience to motivate a player. Now to see if he can do it twice in a row. -- Al

I hope the league takes a really hard look at Yordano Ventura after last night's beaning of Machado this guy has issues with more then a few teams, he brushed back Machado Monday nite and tried to hit him in his first at bat last night, Showalter even told Manny on his way to the plate on his second at bat to watch out for the pitches and sure enough Ace Ventura pops him with a 99 miles per hour fast ball, oddly enough his fastest pitch of the nite, the dude is a loose cannon and hope he gets a real suspension and not a 2 game slap, was even more delighted when the fight was over the O's cranked out 2 bombs back to back on the way to a 9-1 arse whipping of the not so Royals, going to be interesting game 3 tonite...Sammy

I'm very impressed with the way the O's are playing and winning. They have a Mickey Mouse starting pitching rotation and yet they keep winning. Leading MLB in Hr's isn't hurting any, but they are just so gutsy. My main concern, as always, is the starting rotation and whether it will get better. The O's have their ace, Tillman, pitching tonight, so I am looking for a win against KC. -- Al

You left out the part about Muchacho cadillacing it down the line in the previous at bat thinking he hit one out; he got drilled the next at bat.

I don't like guys throwing at another guys head, he got drilled in the ribs.

All of the great pitchers down through time protected the plate and didn't let guys stand up there like it's
BP.

I'd take that kid in two seconds on the Red Sox.

So would you.

Not this year. He's 4-4, with a 5.32 ERA and his WHIP is over 1.5.

However, I hear that he made the Gulden's All Star Team :wink2:

Beautiful pitching job by Tillman tonight, 7.1 innings of shutout ball as the O's finish the sweep of KC by a 4-0 score. And they did it with hitting a Hr tonight. ^&grin -- Al

Just what you would expect from a Price vs. Bumgarner match-up last night, 2-1 win that could have gone to either team.

George, just wondering..has Big Papi been sharing his magic power juice with C. Beltran and Dumbro? Just asking and not implying anything. ^&grin Not that I am complaning about my guy much. Michael

Considering how fat Ortiz is, I'd say no; anyone on PED's is not fat and he is.

The Dumbo thing is something else; have to give Duquette credit, this is the second guy nobody wanted, he took a flier on and looks like a genius, absolutely unbelievable.

A blind squirrel finds an acorn every once and awhile, but this is ridiculous...............unless Toronto catches fire, the LET'S GO O's!! will win the division by beating everyones brains out 9-7, 10-8, 12-11 night after night. Even if they don't win the division, they are shoe in for one of the wild card spots, where they'll beat the other team in a play in game 47-46.

The Red Sox pitching is woeful, they will begin to fade as we creep towards July, what a waste of an historic offense.................

You sir, have excellent taste! Glenmorangie! Bushmills 16 Year Old Single Malt! Get some port cask aged Tyrconnell Single Malt, and I'm caging an invite!{sm4}

With over 1/3 of the season over, as usual the AL East is the most competitive division in baseball.

So true. All teams within 8 games of each other, all it would take to go from last to first is a good, month-long hot streak. The team I don't understand is the White Sox in the AL Central. A while back they were 24-12 and leading the division. They were hot. Since then they've gone 5-18, are now under .500 and are in 4th place, although only 3.5 games off the lead. I don't follow the Sox, so what happened? -- Al

Their pitching leveled off, plus a lot of their success was built of Matt Latos, who is not very good, and he has reverted to form.

The teams that will contend for the divisional title are the Royals and the Indians, who have some excellent young pitching. As we have seen, that will carry you far.

White Sox ran out of patience. Latos has been DFA'ed. -- Al

.500 night for me as the Nat's Strasburg ran his record to 10-0 in tonight's win over Philly but the O's lost to a walk-off Hr in the bottom of the 10th in Toronto. Strasburg fanned 10 tonight, the 7th time this season with 10+ strikeouts. -- Al

Gausman can't catch a break with some offense behind him, solid nite on 8 hits 3 runs but not enough once again, he's pitching really well since returning and sooner or later he'll get his W's...Sammy
