Jimenez strikes again! Lasted all of 1.2 innings this time. 50 pitches to get 5 outs (5 hits and 3 walks) and 6 runs. Another fine job by the weak link. -- Al
Not the O's day from Jimenez on. Things just went bad, big time. Can't remember the last time the O's had 4 errors and gave up 5 unearned runs in a game. Best forget about this one and try again tomorrow.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Mets are having a game that will probably go down in their history as the Utley game. In the third inning Syndergaard threw behind Utley's back and was ejected. A massive overreaction by a rookie umpire. Not even a warning was given. It was a straight red card. In the 6th Utley hit a HR to give the effin Dodgers the lead. In the 7th Utley hit a grand slam. The effer needs to get hit and hit hard.

The O's finish a tough 9 game road swing from Cali, Houston, Cleveland, we took two out of three series but choked hard in Houston?? I was hoping for a 5-4 record but finished it 4-5 but left 10 days ago 1 up in 1st and come back 1 down to the Red Sox so not to shabby, speaking of which Boston comes to Camden Yards for a series starting on Monday for a fight for the division lead, should be a good series...Sammy

Mets won the skirmish but lost the battle. They knocked out Kershaw but Familia gave it up in the 9th. Although he's had a bunch of saves this year, he's giving up more than a hit an inning. His batting avg against is well over 300 and the first batter he faces invariably gets on base. You have to wonder if blowing all those saves in the WS is having an effect. On top of that, looks like Wright needs neck surgery. Once your back goes, everything else seems to follow.

The Dark Knight seems to have righted his Batboat, at least today. He looked sharp, like his old self. -- Al

They supposedly found a flaw in his mechanics. If so, he seems to have corrected it.

Wright says he has a herniated disk in his neck. He's seeing the doctors tomorrow. His season appears to be over, at least for awhile.

Murph! Mr. Murphy saved the Nats with his bat, again. He had a Hr and a game-winning 2-run single to defeat the Phillies tonight, 4-3, as once again he provided most of the offense. Hard to contemplate where the Nats might be right now with his bat and his .395 BA, 52 games into the season. He now has 8 Hr's and 33 RBI's, one behind Harper's team leading 34. -- Al

Well my O's look to have had a chance on getting back into first against the Sox but at this rate I'm just hoping to avoid the sweep , no hitting and not much better in the pitching dept. spells LOSS against good teams like Boston, 3 games out may not sound terrible but from where I'm sitting the wheels are looking a little wobblely for the O's headed into a long June facing a lot of solid teams...Sammy

Sammy, once again the problem is the cobbled together starting pitching. Chris Tillman has been outstanding and is 7-1. Beyond that, nothing. The other 5 pitchers with 4 or more starts are a combined 7-17. That isn't going to get it done. Jimenez is a wreck and Wright, Gausman, and Wison, while not awful, aren't winning. I don't know if Gallardo's eventual return will be enough at this point. We are a 1/3 of the season done, and the starting pitching is just spinning their wheels. Thank goodness Tillman's terrible spring training was just a bad spring training, otherwise the O's could be in real trouble right now, instead of 2nd place. Every year we seem to be worried about the starting pitching. It gets old. -- Al

A very weird game from Matz. He was sailing alone through five. He then went to bat, except it wasn't his turn and he sheepishly went back to the dugout where he got some good natured kidding and then seemed to lose his concentration and it was downhill from there.

Syndergaard came in the 7th and half of his pitches were over 100 miles an hour. Unfortunately, they pulled him after that and the bullpen did a lousy job. It's a game that shouldn't have been a loss.

I have been so caught up in the Sharks and Warriors' playoff runs I almost forgot about the first place Giants (not)! They are 4.5 up on the Dodgers and the tail end of the rotation seems to be improving.

It is an even year though so maybe I shouldn't be surprised?

Wow, I just saw that Marlon Byrd got a 162 game suspension for his second PED violation. I was a little upset when the Giants did not re-sign him after the 2015 season as he came through in the clutch when other hitters did not, but now it seems that management did the right thing (or got very lucky).

It's raining Red Sox Hr's in B-more. They have 4 in 3 innings at this point.{eek3} -- Al

Odd game. The O's now lead in the 7th, 13-8 and they have done it without benefit of a Hr, far and away the most runs they have scored this season without a Hr to help. This has been a real pitcher's duel.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Sounds like the Ravens missed a PAT on one of their TD's and the Patriots went for 2 on their lone score and got it.

Just an odd game. O's won it 13-9, with no Hr's. The Red Sox, on the losing end, hit 5 Hr's. Time to call Ripley's. {sm3} -- Al

Another start by Jimenez and another disaster. Looked good for 5 innings, allowing no runs, and then he goes to pieces. Records 0 outs in the 6th before departing and allowing 5 runs. He'll get an ND because the O's have tied the game but I wonder how long the O's can continue to start this guy. In his last 5 starts, he has pitched only 21 2/3 innings, allowing 33 hits, 16 BB's, and 27 runs (24 earned) and is 0-3. O's just demoted Wright so their starting pitcher options are limited, but Jimenez really isn't an option they can afford much longer. -- A;

O's have hit 2 more since you wrote this, Sammy. Lucky 7! -- Al

O's win 12-7 to gain the split. Well you can certainly say the games weren't dull but the ERA's sure took a beating in this series.:rolleyes2: -- Al
