With the near immediate sell out of BB030 German King Tiger, many of our customers didn't get an opportunity to add one to their collections. So we have created a second variant of this same tank with the exact same coloring and painting, only this time from the 3rd Company, King Tiger 334.

First Legion is extremely pleased to present the next vehicle in our “Battle of the Bulge” series, BB031 the German Sd Kfz 182 Konigstiger as part of the 1st SS Panzer Division. The 1st Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler Division was broken down into 4 different Kampgruppes for the Ardennes offensive, each named after their respective commander. The most famous of these was Kampfgruppe Peiper which contained all of the division’s tanks and was the tip of the spear of the “Wacht am Rhein” offensive. Our tank is designed to appear as it would have looked at the outset of the battle. The King Tiger was the successor to the Tiger I as Germany's Heavy Tank and combined the thick armor of the Tiger I with the sloping armor of the Panther along with the firepower of the 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 anti-tank cannon. Ours is depicted wtih the Henschel turret and soft edged camo as part of the 1st SS Panzer Division's Kampfgruppe Peiper. This tank is a real beast for sure at 70 tons and our rendition of it is modeled and painted to the very highest standards including additional weathering that we haven't done on any previous vehicle save it's predecessor BB030. As with BB030, less than 100 of these have been produced. We do hope this new set gives those who missed out on the first KT to add one to their collection.

BB031 German King Tiger Tank - 3rd Company - SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler $465.00
Ships Middle August

Please note that the painting is the same as BB030, so any color variations except for the turret number are solely the images.

The model is made from a mixed media (resin, metal, plastic, brass, photo etch, etc...) and has the following features:

- Opening & Closing Commander's Cupola
- Removable spare tracks on the turret
- Opening & Closing hatch on turret
- Fully Rotating Turret
- Removable AAMG
- Gun Raises/Lowers
- Antenna
- Extremely realistic weathering and superb sculpting and painting

What is the length, width, height and weight of the FL KT? Questions about the weight abound as some collectors have glass shelves and are concerned. Most shelves are 12" deep is the KT longer
than 12"?

To be honest why do you keep asking about scale in First Legion threads when one you don’t collect Fl and no one else has a problem with fl AFV scale ? Your coming across as a party pooper and it getting tiresome

Gee Neil I did not mention scale. I mentioned size and weight in relation to display shelves. My shelves are 12" deep; is the FL KT larger or smaller. A simple question for a stated purpose.

How do you know if I collect FL or not? I recall a conversation on this Forum with Matt regarding a question I had about an FL Panzer IV I purchased and which he graciously answered. You may wish to reconsider your comments since they are in error. I find disparaging comments offensive please desist.

Take the actual measurements of a King Tiger, Divide by 30, and there is your answer.

Questions abound? Really? From who?

Weight concerns with FL? That's a new one.

It's common knowledge FL models are mixed media hollow resin and lighter than any Panzer by K&C, Figarti, etc.

No kidding, this one put me on the floor laughing. Figarti tanks will collapse shelves, not First Legion.

Gee hunter I tried that with TCS and K&C KTs and it didn't work out so well; maybe because the aren't 1/30! I have asked you several times for the dimensions of your K&C BBG-016 and I have yet to receive a response! Andanna asked about the weight; I think it would be nice to answer the question, which no one as done and I raised it again in hopes of getting an answer.

Granted the FL Panzers are hollow resin structures; but they are not a thin Polystyrene 1/35 scale model either. I agree with several of your observations on the FL KT. The lack of Rot Braun on the barrel and glacis plate. Also you may have missed it; the lack of blacking on the air intake grills and rust on the tracks on the turret. Even the much maligned TCS managed to get those right on their KTs. I expect these oversights on my $24.00 21st century KTs; not on an FL model cost 20X more!

There no error in my comment as your asking about the size of fl king tiger again but your on going thread jacking of threads about scale is tiresome , why do you keep bringing up the The Collectors Showcase king tigers in fl threads !?

Now we’re seeing your true hand your playing :wink2:

I asked about the weight of the Persian elephant and I got my answer, Katana. I have a number of FL tanks and they are lightweight enough to be put on glass shelves. No issue.

Neil comparison of products is part of the review and evaluation process of any new product. FL has a new product, how does it compare to the XYZ product, this is why I mentioned TCS and K&C since they make Toy Soldier KTs.

I know the size of the FL KT, it is smaller than the TCS and K&C KTs. I got the dimensions from a dealer since no one on the forum could answer my question.

I think the forum would be a very dull place if products were not compared and discussed. Perhaps a special product review thread should be established. Thus the individual manufacturers threads can be maintained as sacrosanct, free from technical details or the comparisons, that seem to upset some people. Do you think this would be a good idea?

Yes, a laughable moment. FL tanks, due to their material composition, are quite light.

Oh and what dealer was that Katana? Didn’t realize any of them had one left to measure....

Actually they are so popular they are selling on eBay. Congratulations are in order! Less sarcasm and mor quality control would be nice. Why is the turret machine gun port at 10 o'clock, when it should be at 9 o'clock? Why aren't the air intakes black or the turret tracks rusted, when the vehicle is heavily weathered? The misplaced idler has not been addressed. just ignored. So many mistakes; so few answers!

Ginsu, Please don't take the keys to the keyboard...you'll kill yourself. I suggest you get in touch with Figarti and share your prototyping plan with them. I'm sure they will find it very practical. Oh, I've reviewed the engineering data, and it would take 118 FL KT's stacked on top of one another to break through a standard glass shelf which is more than were actually made. So since you won't be buying even a single one you should be ok.

Cheers,
Joe

Hahaha!

Actually with the latest release probably 200 have been made. 2#X200=400# few glass shelves will survive that weight. Please answer a question; why on such a superb and flawless KT model was the interior of the muzzle brake, turret machine gun and gun sight ports not blacked? Would you say this is a feature or an omission?

Ginsu,
I think these are unforgivable oversights bordering on capital offenses. ^&grin
