I just pre-ordered this piece from our hosts, and I just had to comment on how fantastic the photos of the Bergepanzer IV look. The details of the vehicle, from the moveable boom to the real chains hanging down, are complimented by the excellent poses of the figures (in my opinion some of the best I've seen from the ever improving Figarti design team).

I recently compared the $179 Figarti Snorkel Sherman to the $400+ Honour Bound Gold Edition Snorkel Sherman in my collection, and the Figarti vehicle came out on top in my opinion.

I look forward to comparing the Figarti Bergepanzer to the Honour Bound Bergepanther.

I have noticed that several collectors, myself included, have been disappointed by Figarti's quality control. The one suggestion I would have for Rick and the Figarti team, is to assign an individual to inspect each of the 100 sets of each vehicle as it is packed, and ensure that it is completely and properly assembled and decorated. As good as these vehicles are, at $249 for the Bergepanzer IV, I expect the vehicle to be perfect when I receive it.

Aha!! You succumbed to the Bergepanzer IV after being undecided. :)

As for the quality control, I completely agree with your comments. Figarti should have a quality control checklist developed for each AFV listing the items that can go wrong i.e. Tracks vertical, wheels fully formed, gun mounted straight, gun maintains elevated position, decals straight, paint not cracked or flaking, etc. Many of the problems with recent issues are major, easily noticed flaws which should have prevented the models from going out in the first place.

I just received the British Desert Sherman and the M3 75mm half-track and they look fine. Hopefully things are improving with the most recent models.

I fully agree with the foregoing comments on QC. Sometimes it seems like it's a roll of the dice. With the small amounts being made, it shouldn't be overly burdensome to check each one before they are packed for shipping.

I ordered mine too...through our host of course!

Im curious as to how new the chain will look? It seems to shiney to me...if thats the case Im going to give it a coat of rust...some black and brown lightly feathered between the fingers and messaged onto the chain will do the trick.

Me to Louis ive per-ordered it as well cant wait to see it looks great and with K+C releasing a recovery vehicle in the near future there are some great potential dio ideas, cant wait.........................:D

Another rare and unusual piece not covered in the hobby by manufacturers. Kudos for bringing it out, it looks terrific.

I've been admiring this piece ever since it was unveiled-but wasn't sure I wanted to tie up $$$ in a support vehicle, vs. a fighting vehicle...and have now finally bought one. The only word that came to my mind on this vehicle as I took it out of the box and assembled it was "masterful". WOW.

Mike I think support vehicles give a collection greater depth as with this release and the Red Ball Express releases. Good stuff!

I have to agree Donnie. I think it had to do with crossing the 'cost threshold' on this vehicle as well. I didn't hesitate to grab a Blitz or Schlepper, but the cost point was a lot lower than the Bergepanzer. That said, I'm a very happy owner.
Now I'm going to have to grab one of those Redball trucks.

All the items I got from Figarti were spot on :D

90% of what I have obtained from Figarti has been spot on, especially recently, but there were quality control issues in the past. Rick and the Figarti team have done a fine job of addressing them, and standing by their product when their is a problem.

I have just seen the bergpanzer and its awesome so, I think I may have to have one of these. I love these vehicles and have the HB bergs so this will be a nice addition.
