Blaster Collection (1 Viewer)

Dear Ray and Matt,

Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, flats cast a magical spell on all, don't they?

I usually post my flats update on my blog
http://zinnfiguren-victorwong.blogspot.sg/
but lately, can't seem to do so due to some upgrades by Google? This seems to have affected a lot of bloggers. The collector is based in NZ and sending flats by post make a lot of sense.

The flats are marked WH (William Hafer) and are based on this scene.

I painted those myself some 40years ago, a real pleasure

Hello John and Go For Broke,

Thanks for your kind comments. I didn't receive the article proofs and was just surprised by the Editor.

Hi All,

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that TSC had published my article in Issue 74. In this article, I give a holistic overview on the ethnic figures in my collection.

Victor,

mine arrived yesterday, great set of figures of yours on display, you must have been pleased with the production in the magazine.

Well done, and collectors worldwide can see you skill in producing those unique pieces,

John

Hi John,

You lot in Oz are wonderfully served by the TS community. We still haven't received the issue in Spore and it is expected only by mid March. I got my complimentary copy only courtesy of the Editor.

Thanks for your kind comments. I really enjoyed putting that article together. Now planning the next one...:)

Dear Ray and Mirof,

Thanks for your kind comments too. It is definitely a thrill to write an article and see it come to fruition. I hope to do another one soon.

Just got my own copy yesterday. The article is on making one specific figure in 1/24 scale. Here is a picture of the finished piece on its base. Rgds Victor

I have just finished two sets of the Sacre flats by Segom. It took some time but it was ultimately satisfying. Hope you enjoy it as well.

Nice work Victor....

can you send us a pic of the full set posed for the coronation of Napoleon in 1805?

Today in Dresden I have seen a painting of Le Emperor in all his finery on the day, a gift to the Elector of Saxony in 1810.

Hello Ray, John and Ivanhoe,

Thank you for your kind comments. I find painting flats with oils a very satisfying experience. I haven't yet decided on how to display the Sacre, either on a conventional background or I create a complete coronation scene. I am currently trying to experiment with strips of LED lights for my box dioramas.

I've finished painting and modifying this 54mm flat. Got it from W Braune sometime ago. It represents a puppeteer with two puppets. I didn't like the puppets and substituted these with my own modifications. The piece was mounted on black velvet and displayed in a small frame.

Finished painting this very nice vignette (one side engraving) which I got through Wilken zinnfiguren, although I think the piece is by Glorious Empires. I had it for a long time and had difficulty in working out the complexities of the scene. The figures are approx 40mm.

Great job on painting...really tough at that scale.

Shading/blending is excellent.

The grasses are very well done.

Thank you.

Hello Matt,

Thanks for your kind comments. More pieces to come.
