Troopers Eary, Guttridge and Wehr meet up with other members of their patrol coming back to the camp at Isandlwhana after forward picket duty. Joining them are Sgt. Swan and Trooper Dinkelman of the Newcastle Mounted Rifles who shared duty with Corporals Campbell and Lally of the Natal Mounted Police. They would return to the camp the morning of the 22nd January, 1879 for some much needed rest following their all-nighter.
All are mentioned on the roll of casualties.

Nice to see you bored again Scott along with the photos and what a nice surprise my Aide de Camp this morning seeing you at play with your Little Legion figures and sets Hope we'll see figures from WBritain and Conte featuring figures both mounted and unmounted of the Mounted Rifles and Police. Thanks for the history lesson along with the photos Mike.

Joe, Scott, and Mike - It was nice to see that you three were able to share your boredom with each other last night. It appears that all of you managed to use your time skillfully.

Following the BOMBARDMENT OF ALEXANDRIA 11TH – 13TH JULY 1882

SCOTS GUARDS march through the streets of Alexandria after disembarking from transport ships. These same troops would shortly be in action against Egyptian forces led by Ahmed Urabi at Tel-El-Kebir

Martyn,
SHeeesh! What did they have, Tomahawk missiles on the ships? Another beautiful set from an era I'm still getting caught (entangled) up in.

Great looking Guards. I'm a sucker for that red over blue uniform combo. For that matter I like the blue over red (French) as well. Uniforms made for the gloss finish. -- lancer

Hi Lt

Rorke's Drift.

I've found a couple of plastic 1.32mm ( A call to arms ) figures, i found in the loft the other day.

I painted them a few years ago and thought you might like to see them. Are they 24th foot with the green facing's?.

Best wishes Mark

I have admired the pictures of the K&C jetty and thought that it might have great potential for use with my Trophy Egypt and The Sudan/Boer War and AZW sets, here is my first attempt after getting the jetty’s on Friday

PORT of ALEXANDRIA July 1882

The POST OFFICE RIFLES have disembarked from their transport ship at Alexandria Harbour en route to engage the Egyptian Army of Colonel Ahmed Arabi Pasha. They are led by a welcoming unit of BLACK WATCH pipers

Hi Lt

I had a right laugh, when i read your post again.:D You said about something for the Nappy fans. In England, Nappy ( Nappies ) is what we call a diaper.

I'm being a little bit childish now.

Great stuff.:D

Very best wishes Mark.
