K&C wooden Bf110, (resin?) Komet and my favourite wooden 'Tiffy' with clear cockpit, ignored a bit to focus on the rare glossy French soldiers.

All from Louis' collection

My Uncle Leo Badolato was a member of that friendly invasion force, and he brought home my Aunt Margaret, from Liverpool, as a war bride.

Sadly my Uncle Joseph Amana, another member of that friendly invasion force, never made it home, giving the last full measure flying from Snetterton Heath in a B17 known as the "Rikki Tikki Tavi" on a mission to bomb Berlin on May 5, 1944.'

In addition to these, My Uncle Jack Amana served in the 9th Air Force in a B24 Liberator out of North Africa, Sicily and Italy, and my Uncle John Amana served on a Destroyer Escort. So four family members served, and three made it home.

I think this might be a fairly representative sample of the American experience from WWII. I am just thankful for that greatest generation, from all of the Allied nations, who gave us all our lives.

Esp. like this shot:

Outstanding diorama, something well worth displaying. The background really enhances the scene. Regards Greg.
