Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (1 Viewer)

Firebat, good to see you posting again, nice dio, hope all is well. I was admiring your foliage, what do you use?

Ask Nick he did most of the work on this one. Nick is carrying the load while I polish up this divorce nonsense. Just bought a new house will move Oct 11th. BSP will be going from a 1350 Sq ft. Basement to a 250 Sq ft Garage bay, which I will have to build into a well organized work shop. Many projects on the drawing boards. Things should be in full swing by November. But despite the adversity we have keep things afloat. You are doing a great job keeping the troops entertained. I like your use of diversified camera angles. Alex

Hey guys single life is starting to become a blast !!!!!!!!

C'mon Simon, you haven't posted for a couple of minutes:D

No fair!

I could, but the dio would look suspiciously like a big pink foam block. I'm working on it, I'm working on it!

Simon

(Great shot BTW ;))

Very good shot, I love the sunlight effect too. I haven't noticed but are you coming to the Chicgao Show?

Carlos

Sorry, missed this - photobucket would need me to shrink all the photos so not really worth it.

You don,t need to resize any of your photos for photo bucket and when you post them on the forum from your photo bucket account you don,t have to resize either, so there is no resizing needed at all with photo bucket.

I have met both Royal Mairne Commandos and Paras and from what I can gather the rivalry between the two elite units is rather intense. The Marines think the Paras are just pretty boys and the Paras think the mairnes just skive off on boats all day. The Paras even claim to have been first to Port Stanley just that the Marines were more friendly with the reporters so they got in a few pics of the Marines rainsing the Union Jack. So I would not mix the two regiments too much

Did the Brits really bring bagpipes to battle in WWII, if so, that explains there bright red devil berets. Mike:)

We certainly did Modwalls.......even the English guy's admitted that the pipes inspired them.....:D:D
You just have to look at SCOTLAND sitting proudly at the top of the qualifying group for the football European Championship competition, to be held in Austria/Switzerland next year to see how much the pipes work.
Beijing Olympics in 2008???? My Precious Little Cherry Blossom can forget about that....and start looking forward to attending football matches in mega-expensive European places......:D:D

I kinda like the bagpipes being of Irish decent, but to play those things in time of battle, seems ridiculas, or just having to lug them around. Mike:)

Morale was so important and like was mentioned the bag pipes were a great morale lifter. When I was in the army the national antham being played was a proud moment.

It's absolutely true mate. Just one example; Lord Lovat's piper played them as his commando's relieved the guys at Pegasus Bridge. As accurately portrayed in "The Longest Day".
:):)

Good morning Vietnam......

Hi Panda,

That diorama is exellent. Like Mike says, "We don't see enough Nam stuff." Thanks for posting the pictures.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Thanks, this is Louis' stuff that I am just getting around to - although the actual diorama built by Gordon - which is excellent - is only part of the shot. I will try to post some more Nam shots.

The best will be in the Book;)

That is an awesome diorama Panda.
It's seeing your work that's inspired me to try and get close to the beauties you post. I found a model train shop when I was in Germany recently. They must have thought their Christmas had come early this year, cos I bought well over 400 Euros worth of dio raw materials. Can hardly wait until my next 5 weeks off in China so's I can have a go at constructing some dios that approach your level of excellence.

Best Regards
Harry
