Bit sad when that comes about, and I think it will, just depends on how rapidly.
Everything changes, and I guess, most of us have mixed feelings about change and the older we get, the less we like it !

John's diorama 210 Years Ago on the K&C threads, reminded me of some dioramas I had done a few years ago and so, "Quatre Bras".....

I'm so glad to have provided the impetus for you to show us your Battle diorama today, it now 18th June here in Aus.

I love the camera angles show from both sides of the line, and the arial shots showing the Bristish Squares and the galloping French Cuirassiers trying to breech the 'Thin Red Line'.

The Fire Support provided by the Royal Artillery really puts the 'icing on the cake' for me

Steve, to clarify my 'Nothing to see here' post. I gave up trying to work out how to complete an earlier post using the Quote Reply options, I decided to just make another post and left 'Nothing to see here' as my attempt at comedy

Yes I did wonder what the heck you were saying !
Change you see ! Older we get less we like it !

Which is probably one of the reasons, many of us like collecting and displaying our Toy / Model Soldiers !

True, not many people actually like change or improvements, especially as we age. Toy Soldiers are a good 'constant' but even they are now very different from the original Glossy Toys Soldiers that people collected back in the day.

That said, you can't avoid new technology, I'm looking forward to receiving my new car in July, but I expect a steep learning curve for the new tech compared to my old car that has served me faithfully for many years.

Second, the title of the thread is "bored tonight, post a diorama". I think you went beyond that and decided, "bored tonight, started a full scale war"

Trust you are enjoying the change of scenery and breathing in all that Sea air !

Unfortunately these seem to be the only photos I still have from this time, I no longer have the photos of the French Lancers charging through the High wheat fields. But I'm sure if anyone is that interested, they will be able to find them in my previous Waterloo Campaign thread if they look back many years and thousands of posts !

We are sadly lacking in current photos of our big Napoleonic collection as well.
But what you have, Steve, is superb. First class. Enjoying it with Mike and Dad and everyone else on the Forum.
Glad to see something other than Rome from you. Still, please keep it all up.

North Africa 1942 ...... the nightmare of the gun that could kill all allied tanks at distance ......




Although by now American, 75mm armed tanks could fire back with high explosive. The Grant was very well received by the British, even with the hull mounted 75mm. It had decent armour and was also felt to be reliable, essential due to the long distances in the desert.

Great stuff, Kevin! Clive gave me one of Monty's M3 Lee tanks (which I believe he commissioned) because he knew I would never buy anything buttociated with Montgomery! lol
