Brad's Military Miniatures Collection (2 Viewers)

I remember those bases. Andy had brought them to the last Symposium he attended, indicating K&C was planning to release small modular bases of various terrain types for do-it-yourself dioramas. We all thought it was a great idea, but it never came to fruition. Andy gave each of the Symposium sponsors (Larry, Hans, Mark Hoffman and I) one of the bases. Mine was a desert base.

16th (Queen) Lancers, from King & Country, on top of the second base.

Arnhem 44 was the series that started it all for K & C, matte figures and World War II. K & C made several Jeeps for the Arnhem range. The Jeeps were not inexpensive: $192 in the mid 1990s.

Pictured here is AN 06, the Reece Jeep.

Al, thanks. Here's another set you might like, Australia New South Wales Lancers.

By comparison, here's one of the Jeeps made by King & Country when they resuscitated the Arnhem range as the Market Garden range.

Just received this yesterday, a Russian Napoleonic Standard Bearer from AeroArt, NW 3, by Arsenyev. Since it's a perfect match for my First Legion ones, it must be a Tauride Grenadier. The flag detail is amazing.

M16 Quad 50 Halftrack by King & Country. Larry Lo helped me find this model. In fact, I remember when he gave it to me. He, Louis and I were visiting the late Doug Stork -- a great collector (you can still read his posts here) -- in the hospital in 2005 or 2006 and Larry gave it to me.

That was nice of him Brad and it's a nice model. I wish Andy would release a new one of these.

Brad:

Simply spectacular!!! Thanks for sharing, I could look at these pics all day as many of them take me on my own personal trip down memory lane of toy soldier collecting.

Thanks Jason, appreciate it.

In 1996 King & Country issued four medieval standard bearers for the Palio Races in Sienna (produced upon a commission from Toy Soldier Magazine). I have three of them but one is buried too deep in a cabinet to take out for a photo.

Field Marshall Archduke Charles of Austria, issued by First Legion. A spectacular figure.

The archduke is one of my favorite FL flag bearers!

I love the Palio K&C figures too - I was so happy the day I got those

The Palio figures are definitely unusual, something a little different.
