Brad's Military Miniatures Collection (1 Viewer)

Thanks Jason, appreciate it.

In 1996 King & Country issued four medieval standard bearers for the Palio Races in Sienna (produced upon a commission from Toy Soldier Magazine). I have three of them but one is buried too deep in a cabinet to take out for a photo.

Interestingly, Andy tells a different story of the origin of these figures, despite the add in Toy Soldier Magazine indicating these figures were created on a commission for them. Andy told me that originally, there was an Italian dealer who commissioned these figures, but he went out of business after taking the initial delivery. Apparently Andy was then approached by Toy Soldier Magazine, and passed the remaining figures along to them.

Larry Lo and I found an Italian ebay seller, a woman, who sold us a bunch of these figures, indicating they came from her Uncles' estate. Perhaps her uncle was the original dealer Andy was talking about.

The Souvenir Hunters from King & Country. One of their best Paratrooper sets in my opinion. My favorite Para set anyway.

My collection of K & C Paratroopers. It includes all the ones made around nine or ten years, plus a couple of the more recent ones.

Play Ball! This is a Civil War set made by Ted Toys: 155th Pennsylvania Zouaves vs Union Artillery. Ted has also made two other Play Ball sets, one of which is Southern. Ted makes some wonderful Civil War sets.

M16 Quad 50 Halftrack by King & Country. Larry Lo helped me find this model. In fact, I remember when he gave it to me. He, Louis and I were visiting the late Doug Stork -- a great collector (you can still read his posts here) -- in the hospital in 2005 or 2006 and Larry gave it to me.

That was one of the 4 Metalshed sets my son was choosing from, along with the 2 RNAS armored cars he got, and a cool French Motor Ambulance. Nice pickup!

Three Flagbearers of the Imperial German Reich.

On the left is a Flag bearer of the German Navy, from the German Seamen set by Beau Geste. In the middle is a flagbearer of the 13rd Bavarian by King & Country. On the right is a Freikorps flagbearer by Thomas Gunn.

The figures represent the Imperial War Ensign in use between 1903-1918.

Brad, you have a really nice collection (so far!) {bravo}}

Jeff :salute::

Jeff, thanks, I appreciate it. I'm enjoying selecting items to post. It's another way to enjoy your collection. I'd encourage everyone to do that.

Very nice indeed Brad. In fact, Anna's figures impressed me so much - I made up a version for myself based on her band and Escort. Mine came from modified Dorset Soldiers castings - and I too had a go at the Standard. Here's a pic below. jb

Johnny,

Thanks for posting. Those look superb. The standard looks first rate. Well done!

That must be a very interesting museum John. I hope to go to Vienna someday.

Brad

Yes, but set aside a full day for the visit as there is SO much to see include artillery, armour and aircraft.
