Brad's Military Miniatures Collection (3 Viewers)

Scott,

Thanks. Good question but I think Ron Leh (the owner) applies more coats of paint.

For comparison, here is the Madras Light Horse Camel Troop from King & Country. It's not as well detailed or painted as the Somerset Camels but still quite nice.

Really neat figure. The Madras Light Cavalry regiment is one I have also, but they are all horse mounted. I have always liked the all blue uniforms with the dark blue accents. -- Al

This standard bearer made by First Legion for their American Civil War range is superb as you can imagine the flag being blown by the wind.

This was always one of my favorite K & C Christmas issues. The only other one I still have is last year's WWI truce set.

General Santa Ana from the Alamo range. The figure on the left is by King & Country and the one on the right by Trophy.

Seaforth Pipes and Drums from King & Country. This is a 20 figure set consisting of the drum major, 12 pipers and seven drummers. I never had an interest in marching bands until I became interested in K & C glossy. Andy has made some wonderful bands over the years.

This is from Ted Toys' Western range, Mounted Arapaho Chief. Ted's figures go particularly well with Trophy.

Spanish Civil War figures. The two on the left are from Jenkins, the two on the right from Kronprinz. I wish we had more Republican figures than Nationalist figures.

The first Arnhem releases and the opposing matt Waffen SS sets revolutionized the hobby as we knew it.

I have a few of the early German sets. This one, WS 10, I particularly like.

Interesting. My WS-10 all have gray helmets. These old sets are really nice. The Treefrog consignment section has some nice old sets. 5-years ago, I would have bought most of them, but now I'm trying to scale back my buying.

The Consignment Shop has one that is apparently like yours. K & C made several of the same motorcycles in different camouflages so I guess they did the same with this set. Like you I've always liked this set. A lot of action and the wall makes it a little different.

In 1995-1996, I fell in love with these early matt WW2 sets, especially the wood, metal and resin vehicles that went with them, and for the longest time flipped from collecting traditional glossy to only K&C matt, before re-discovering my love for glossy with Trophy WWI and Heco Tinplate Models about 10 years later.

I think you constantly have to find new ways to keep yourself interested.

For me that was glossy and conflicts other than WW II, such as......

Gordon of Khartoum from Trophy.
