Brisbane Diorama - 2015 (3 Viewers)

That's a hell of a long way to come for dinner and a free figure.:tongue:

As for popping over again, I'm working on it......however not sure if Wayne will have me back after I nearly flooded his bath room.{eek3}^&grin

That is probably good - I wouldn't get into that shower without shoes on!

'Shedding' is a natural daily occurrence for us 'Hobbits', however at a pinch I'd be prepared to wear me flip-flops to prevent any future bath blockages.:tongue:{sm3}

those roofs look great cheers graham

Congratulations on the cow shed and buildings! This for sure will make JG Miniatures eye ball and get envious of direct competition......{sm4}{sm4}{sm4}, keep it up and keep us posted on the Dio.....I would love to see more of the progress and what has already been assembled....

Cheers

Fantastic work on the WW1 dio....with the German Artillery in their hidden postions, the German trenches and the no man's land with the ruins etc....can we get to see more pics of the dio.....specially for those like me that are from the other side of the Globe...{sm2}{sm3}{sm4}....rare are the chances of being able to see the real thing " in loco" ....
Cheers

Another Sunday at the college and this one was unique as something very rare occurred and I managed to capture some images.....Jack actually used a power tool! see below...

We also continued to 'Terra-form' the first Waterloo table.....

Still much to do.

Also the second Waterloo (Hougoumont) table was erected....

Wayne.

Note the scale issues when the workers stand side by side!

.......for some very strange reason I'm reminded of the Oompa-loompa's from Willy-Wonka's chocolate factory when I viewed you're pic......no prizes for guessing who Willy Wonka is?{eek3}^&grin

Jack - sounds like the showers they had when we did our Army Reserve training. Remember that time your corporal was going to make you go two at a time to get through more quickly?

Just got caught up on a couple of threads and saw this one of the extension and the new diorama's. The original ones were impressive enough. All I can say is WOW!! I can't wait for the Waterloo diorama. Someday when I retire, I hope to do some activities like this. It is just amazing. Chris

Many thanks! The Waterloo diorama is certainly going to be quite something - lots of colour and dash!

Looking forward to seeing this if the previous diorama's are anything to go by - probably a silly question to ask - but why are these new tables a lot higher than the originals?

Keep up the good work, you guys are a credit to the hobby! {bravo}}

Well spotted Jeff. They are 1200 mm and the aim is to enhance the perception of large numbers by 'looking through the masses of figurines". The viewer (without bending - an important point for the spine in advanced years) will be able to be able to look from Hougoumont across the French cavalry charge to see the Prussians battling their way through the French guard units at Plancenoit.
You need to be at the dinner to get your prize though:)

We will be producing a book again this year to coincide with the Brisbane K&C dinner. It will document seven major dioramas which have been constructed by a group of Brisbane collectors. It will be 40 pages of A4 colour and will be professionally published and available at the dinner or by request. It will benefit again from the brilliant photography of Marc (Barneywomble) who has just finished designing the cover of the College's history of her Old Boys in WW1. This is just a teaser for how good the dinner publication will be!

There is no-one more posh than Lord Brett of Enoggera. Evening drinks with him is a black tie affair.
