Brisbane Diorama - 2015 (2 Viewers)

Looks great so far, but I can't wait to see it come to life with Turks defending and Brits and ANZACS storming the heights. What is the estimated completion date of the diorama?
Cheers,
Brendan

You lads are on fire now, ANZAC cove looks amazing, love all the different colours and textures. You must have shares in a sandbag company by now ^&grin. The Napoleonic farm buildings and layout is shaping up nicely too....can't wait to see all of this in the flesh.{sm3}

40 boxes of sandbags so far I think (not all used yet mind) :rolleyes2: You coming over means the cave will get it's annual hose out early, Lucy gets a bath as well, the things a bloke does for a Kiwi mate ^&grin

The dioramas will be complete and photographed before the end of May. We are on a tight schedule as we have a collectors dinner in July. Bob and I are at Waterloo in June although I will be making a detour to the London Toy Soldier Show. Watch this space!

As always Wayne a true Gentleman at heart.:salute:: I'm a bit concerned about the hose-down though, I'd hate to think what you and the 'Brissy Boys' get up to in ya cave.{eek3} As for Lucy dog I'm sure she loves a bath.^&grin

I have a mate whose as rough as guts and his version of a bath for his beast, is to toss a stick into the tide. The funny thing is the dog never brings the stick back.

Lucky buggers, should be an amazing trip and a visit to LTS as well. You sure you couldn't squeeze a wee Kiwi into your carry on luggage.^&grin

That terrain is really coming along. Must admit I was a little skeptical at first with the configuration, but now I see it working well. Your deadline Gallopoli end of May looks on track.:salute::, Robin.

OK, to-day made some good progress on the Gallipoli dio , you'll notice we have put down the water which has a coat of 'water effects' on top, this goes on white but then dries clear so next week we will dry brush it so the pictures will show the water just after it was applied. Also worked on the Turkish trench thanks to Glen, who started this with his 'stick work' :wink2:.Lots of work still to be done but well on the way.

This is a very well thought out and modelled terrain with all the little details - just most impressive! {bravo}}

Well done to all involved. :salute::

Jeff

The water aspect has turned out to be very effective, the boats will look terrific sitting on this. The fine tuning on the terrain is paying dividends too. It is coming together quickly now, hope the boats are announced tomorrow so you will have them later this month. Well done guys. Robin.

The end is nigh. A big gathering today and a concerted effort to get close to finished as the Waterloo Bi-centennial drags some of us to Belgium. The first part of the day saw the backdrops for Gallipoli go into place and the transitional scenery (3D to flat backdrop) finished. Elliot at work while Glenn adds the finishing touches to the Lone Pine trench

That's the best my camera would do for the day so others present will add more

That style of painting is interesting, could almost phone it in. Certainly can see this scenery backdrop is very professional and is going to compliment the overall diorama magnificently.:salute::, Robin.

Yes it was all hands on deck to-day, here are some pics of the Gallipoli dio. Bear in mind that the boat is only for 'illustration purposes' as we await the landing boats to arrive and some of the new releases as well, but essentially the dio is complete. The Waterloo dios I will leave for later or some of the other guys may post some pics as well.
