Britain's Zulu War (3 Viewers)

Here's my first attempt at creating my own scenic backdrop. I have beeen so very much impressed by the backdrops used by several members on this thread that I decided to try it myself. Well as everyone can see, I have a lot to learn and improve on   . The scenic backdrop picture I have used is an actuial picture that was taken in Zululand. The image did not print with the color vividness of the picture I downloaded :(. Oh well, I suppose we all crawl before we walk . . . . :)

Great stuff Mike, I have found that also what you have downloaded is not what shows up on the paper.

Mike, I'm no expert, but I'm going to guess that you are low on ink first off.

Secondly, and I'm no expert again, but you need to buy some quality photo paper, gloss or matte.

There are also settings for size (2x4...8x10).

There are settings for ink print.

You can also edit the photo to the right colors for you before you print...keep trying, but buy some quality paper first and check your ink.

Mike I use photo paper, HP Premium Plus Photo Paper Soft Gloss which seems to work pretty nicely. Matte paper works also. You dont want something that will be to glossy. Also check your printer settings. Ask Randy he is pretty knowledgeable on this stuff.

Mike all of my background photos were created using a matte double sided photo picture paper the latest is Staples Photo Supreme double sided matte paper.

Wow! What a dandy close-up! I'll be putting this on my desktop as it is one of my favorite units and designed and implemented by My Lordship.
Great detail!
Mike

Thank you all for the "how-to's" and sage advice. Once again, a great picture LT.

Well here's my second attempt at photography fame ;). I still have a long way to go yet and lots to learn . I tried to apply some of the sage advise provided by fellow forum members; checked my ink supply, used photo paper (only had glossy though) etc. I also think part of the problem might be with the camera - I only have a very inexpensive "no frills" Vivitar. In this picture I have used a great scenic photo that LT. e-mailed me today - thanks Joe. I think my second attempt is better than my first :). I call this picture "Vigilant"
