Britain's Zulu War (1 Viewer)

Mike..........great shot!

I wish my first attempts came out as good as your first.

You have a natural talent for this......love the poses.

Well I have the day off from work and I have been busy playing with my camera and Zulu figures. First off I went to Office Depot and purchased a packet of 8.5" X 11" photo paper and a few sheets of self mounting foam board. Then off to Michael's Craft store for some light green reindeer moss. I set up a photo shoot in my basement. I used a picture of Zululand that I found on the internet as a backdrop. After printing it I adhered it to the foam board for stability. Only lighting from an over compact flourescent light, and two desk lamps (each with a 75w bulb) on either side of the picture was used. I positioned the figures, using the moss to cover the fourground and their bases. Placed my camera 6" from the subject, set it on no flash with macro focus mode on. After taking the picture I cropped it to my liking and saved it. Here's the result . . . . .

Setting up a picture like this takes longer than some might think. But I am finding that its a great way to enjoy and play with my figures . . . . . . Mike

DELICIOUS !!! By Jove chaps I think he's got it. An excellent photo Mike. And you are right they do take time to set up and dismantle, but it is fun and after a while you be a dab hand a grabbing bit and bobs you need to set up a photo.

Cheers

Having a sceening prior to it's appearance on the forum I've got a chance of enjoying it's outcome for the second time around......The Lt.

Trying to get my pictures on Photobucket to enlarge more. Mike Miller thought perhaps I was cropping my pictures too much before saving them to my Photobucket album. Here's a picture that I did not crop. "Just one bullet left"

Mike,
Again, great stuff...I always resize my photos (and never use Photobucket) down to just under the max for the forum. I take small format, superfine detail setting, and use Paint to reduce to 99%. Works for me as most of my photos I want/have in My Pictures folders.
Mike

Thanks for all your comments lads . . . here's another one "Out of bullets, out of breath, and out of luck"

Vick, Martyn and Scott - You all are too kind :). Scott, it is certianly an honor to have my picture on your desktop. I have had so much fun and enjoyment today and I am glad I was able to share the fruits of it with all of you chaps.

Mike

Excellent mike! That turned out awesome! Your becoming a pro at this now. Keep it up.:)

I figured out my sizing problem - my camera was set on a 640 x 480 image size - no wonder I couldn't get larger pictures to show from Photobucket. Reset my camera to 1600 x 1200 image size - problem resolved. Here's a test picture . . . "This little piggy went to market, this little . . . ."
