Britain's Zulu War (1 Viewer)

Lt.
What glorious pictures to enjoy my LDDB with this fine, humid morn!(Large Dunkin Donuts Black).
Don't forget the older Durnford's last Stand wagon that can be used, or created by using balsa wood and plastic wheels.

:):D:) I knew you were kidding around LT. I was too in my response. I have reserved a 4' X 4' area for my Rorke's Drift display. I am hopeful that WB will come out not only with a comissary store but also the two wagons for the south wall and also the mealie bag redoubt. The same stone walls I am using in the ACW area could also be used to make a nice looknig stone karral. When everything is done I am hoping to have two nice looking set-ups all on one big table.
Mike

Mike,
My opening comment on this thread was in part, serious as to your stone walls...They are a perfect fit for the kraal next to the Storhouse, as evidenced by Joe's pictures he has with them included...They are perfect for the job. Get your coffee!

You currently have available to you the glossy wagon from WBritain which you can easily achieve a matte finish by using KRYLON'S Matte Finish Spray 1311 which will also add additional pieces to the Accessory Sets you may have. At $72.00 with 20% discounts to be had and the cost of the spray paint you can't go wrong and they'll fit in just fine. I can't see First Gear redoing the wagons in matte it doesn't make sense but you never know....The Lt.

Mike here's the send to the last in the series of photos and I'm sure by now your enjoying your first cup of coffee..

That ranker must be thinking something like "Oh shuckie darn" :D:p He is in quite a fix now isn't he? Doning much better now - I have my caffene fix. I always thought that the WB glossy figures were a bit smaller than their matte figures. With that in mind, my reasoning behind not getting the available glossy wagons was that they would be a bit smaller also.

Mike

They do offer them without the figures Mike, but they have also chosen to add IMO silly accesories such as spears, shields & mealie bags. They would be better off without them and it would drop the price a bit as well. I will still hold out for Wb as I want the continuity (I don't like to mix and match at all).

Sounds like you will have 2 great looking dios and each one seems to have ample space :) Question :- Where will you fit in Isandlwana LOL :D :D :D

I didn't know that Frontline offered the wagons separartely, thanks for the intel. Like you, I also prefer continuity and would rather not mix different manufacturer lines. As far as Isandlwana . . . . well that might have to be placed with my Hougoumont "stuff". Right now I have alot to do finishing off my mission and my Shenandoah farm ;).

Using my favorite line a pictures worth a 1000 words. Here's a photo of the WB wagon place in front of the FL wagon. Although it's the Brit wagon from Durnford Last Stand it's identical to the new glossy wagon except for the paint job. I'm sure you'll agree that there's a very slight differance in height but it shows that it would blend in with the new 24th Brits quite nicely if redone in matte. I have no problems mixing various product lines when I find that they blend it very nicely with each other. Just food for thought if you want to save a few dollars the Brit wagons the way to go. Mike nicely done photo featuring your Rebs I'm sure it'll make the UKReb's day.....Joe

By jove LT. I believe you're right. A picture is always worth a 1,000 words. The difference does seem to be minimal between the two wagons.
Mike

Thanks Joe the side by side is most helpful as I was worried about the size difference as well. Looks like i may have to get a couple and give em a blast of matte spray :D

Unless Scott Ken's advises you that he'll be sculpting something like this.....Joe

The ranker you used here Joe is one of my favorites. He is about to become a poster child for an Excedrin Headache commercial :D. Always an enjoyment.

Starting another series of photos featuring the set that's given me so much pleasure in featuring the figures in many of my mini photo dioramas.

Others to follow using the figures separately and with one or two from other sets.

Nice dio's......some people just know how to put artistic talent to work in dio's and you are one of those people........Great work and photos.....

Doesn't get much better than this Joe - a day oof from work, a fresh cup of coffee, and a great new picture to look at first thing in the morning :D. Supposed to rain here today  but a bad rainy day at home always beats a good day at work. Oh what shall I do . . . . perhaps play ;)
