I think some of the answer to future East Front productions is seen in the number of posts and participation in the poll of this thread. This thread has been up 12 days and has only 60 posts and 50 voters, of whom a large percentage have no interest in seeing further production. KC has said no. Figarti, nothing yet. It seems that hopes will be pinned to First Legion and how successful their new East Front line becomes. I would like to see KC or Figarti do East Front but I am not holding my breath. -- lancer

good points there.

on the flip side of things, 1400 + views in this thread shows that more than a few are on the fence with this one.

i really felt that brand consciousness plays a big part.

lets face it, roughly 70-80% of the people traversing thru TF forum (members and visitors) collect k&c.

in fact many collect only K&C, as they probably do not want to mix their collection with other manufacturers.

i probably felt that perhaps K&C could have a bit more patience and more vigorous marketing in the eastern front. i always hear that eastern front doesnt sell, but i'm finding difficulty looking for the battle of berlin sets (T34, puma etc).

and now that figarti has rightfully gained widespread acclaim with their armour pieces, perhaps figarti will once again shock and awe us?(but affordable please :D)

I think when the model as well made as FIGARTI does with their models - 100 Production Worldwide is always going to be a SELLOUT.

Sounds like we could use a simple poll for WW2 armour collectors.. Would you buy Russian armour (Yes) (Yes - but not my top priority) (Collect WW2 armour but No interest in Russian Armour)

Terry

good idea terry.

but perhaps you'll want to include another 2 options -

1. i'll buy Russian armour if its nice and affordable.

2. i'm a hardcore K&C collector and will buy Russian armour if andy seriously wants to dwelve into eastern front.

I am assuming if it is made by K&C it will be nice and affordable, and if by Figarti, nice and limited production. The more choices, the more diluted the poll becomes and the less clear cut. I would like this poll to do one thing only - poll this forum to see if people will buy Russian armour.

Perhaps Rob can set it up in the morning. :D;)

good choice terry.

com' on rob, help us do the poll mate.
the JS2 is no Jennifer Aniston, but still a beauty.:D

News to me. But I'm all eyes...do you know how many K&C produced?

Sorry Blowtorch, I don't know how many T34/85's K & C produced. When I said it was not a big seller I actually meant in terms of popularity. Based on past posts on this forum and personal discussions it was discovered to be a relatively slow seller, same as the K & C Russian Rocket Truck.

Anyhow, I hope you guys get some Russian models made and with Figarti's recent Eastern Front Storch release you may have some hope for more Eastern Front sets.

Personally I don't buy any Eastern Front armor unless I can use them in Western Front displays. Like all our collecting decisions I have my own reasons for this, suffice to say I don't collect WWII Japanese either ;)

Yup, cummon Rob, step up to the plate.
Let's see now, its 13:00 with me, so it must be just about wakey-wakey time in the UK, let's get Terry's poll up and running once you've had your coffee and toast.
:)

Cheers

Your wish is my command guys and its done, only three choices though re Terry's request.:)

OK, but do you have a feeling if it was a big run or small? A slow big run would be OK, but if it was a slow selling small run, that would indeed be discouraging

When Andy was discussing at the 2005 NY Symposium that he was coming out with the Berlin series, he mentioned a number of 2,000. Whether that was done I have no idea.

Russian armor is so rare that when I see it I buy it as I am not sure whether we will ever see another one.
That is my five cents worth Terry.

You would have to ask Andy about the total number made, which he may not reveal for obvious reasons. However, with general releases like the T34/85 (RA013) Andy has previously said K & C make an initial run of say 500 pieces (actual initial number depends upon estimated sales), and if these sell out in a timely fashion they do subsequent run(s).

Apparently Limited and Strictly Limited issues are different. If limited to say 888 pieces, that's how many they make, and when they sell out that's it.

I'm sure Figarti could sell 100 x JS-2's despite not having the extensive dealer network of K & C. However, I couldn't see 100 being sold out before they hit the dealers as with the 88 mm and I would expect JS-2s would still be available from dealers after 12 months. That said, there is the fact that to my knowledge there hasn't been a decent diecast JS-2 made in 1:32/30 scale, so who knows, even the experts get sales estimates wrong and I'm no expert.
