as some of you know...

I tried to sell my castle at the Texas Toy Soldier Show a few months ago...

I knew it was a long shot...

but I couldn't give it away...

when I first started collecting K&C's Cross and the Crescent...

my original diorama table of 39" x 27" was more than big enough...

but Andy kept the series lively and interesting by adding to it frequently...

and thank you for that...

however... I outgrew my table finally...

Tim (Fishhead) once called it the Battle of the Sardines cause the figures were packed so tight...

I repainted my castle in more of a sand/desert color...

a beige/tan base with a weathered white dry brush over it...

and I just finished setting it up...well sort of finished...

here are a few pics...

it's now 7 foot long and 39 inches wide...

I put a river in it and added some of my SP buildings and made an Arab village...

I will take some close-ups later of it...

Andy...
feel free to make some more Medieval Knights...
more Saracen....
and more Life of Jesus figures...
I'm ready now...^&grin

Mike ... outstanding indeed!! .....{sm3} An interesting progression from the ... river -> village -> castle.
Another top draw achievement.

But when are you going to start on the next 7 foot table!!! ^&confuse

Great work Mike .. the castle with nearby village looks fantastic. So much going on and so vibrant, although I suspect you may soon need to lengthen it to 14'.

thanks Larry...

as you can see...

John...like Andy...has kept the FIW alive and well...

I have outgrown this table too...

I'm starting a new 7 foot table soon...

I am adding a fort...
an Indian village...
a forked river...
one tributary for the Indian's canoes and one for the British wagons with a bridge...

I removed the Medieval diorama from my office...

so now I have room for a big FIW dio...

you can donate a few beautiful scratch built wigwams...^&grin

hehehe...

OD...thank you...I hope this will contain my collection for a few years...

Yes wonderful fort Mike, can't wait to see it all set up. You must be having a ball with your FIW stuff. ^&grin Wish K&C would dip their toe into this period at some stage soon.

Don't know where to look first ... Excellent work that took a lot of preparation I"m sure !!!
guy:)

thanks Larry...

Then what will my poor Indians live in??^&confuse

I have three projects going on now ... in between the summer outside work chores ... and my Indian Village is one of them.
I suspect you will see copies of your ideas in mine ... I just hope I can do them to even a percentage of your work.

Agree Mike the repainted version of the castle looks more at home with your new setting. I for one would be keeping it especially with the new series Tales of Sherwood on the way.:wink2:, Robin.

Beautiful scenes Mike. I really like the castle. Well done and all are a pleasure to view.

Very nice Mike. I'm currently working on a very large Normandy dio so I appreciate how much effort goes into making a large dio.

Bloody marvelous Michael ^&cool:cool:^&cool

Bet you are pleased you never sold the castle now {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

All the best

Martyn:)

great Mike, I can't wait to see your new FIW setup. I would do the same but unfortunately I do not have enough room, so far I was able to save at least my bedroom!!

Mike, I love your new, renovated and enlarged castle diorama. Beautiful work, as always. Great idea to give the castle a middle east look. Love that you added the village, with the river and the boats. Your other dioramas are also great, but I especially like the Crusades line and middle east theme, as you know. I always enjoy viewing your work. Very inspiring. George
