Castle Diorama Finished...sort of... (1 Viewer)

The village compliments the castle so well Mike. Wonderful scenes that flow together. Well done. Chris

WoW ! Love the wooden fort

JBP...thank you...that's all JJD...his blockhouse...his walls...his buildings...

Yes wonderful fort Mike, can't wait to see it all set up. You must be having a ball with your FIW stuff. ^&grin Wish K&C would dip their toe into this period at some stage soon.

DK...thanks for the comments on the fort...it will take a while to get set up...K&C has produced some AWI Indians that are very nice...

Mike you have excelled yourself...magic in every way :salute::
Wayne.

Wayne...thank you...you guys are a huge inspiration...

Don't know where to look first ... Excellent work that took a lot of preparation I"m sure !!!
guy:)

Guy...thank you...it took a while but it's so much nicer than the original diorama...so much easier to separate the figures...

Then what will my poor Indians live in??^&confuse

I have three projects going on now ... in between the summer outside work chores ... and my Indian Village is one of them.
I suspect you will see copies of your ideas in mine ... I just hope I can do them to even a percentage of your work.

--- LaRRy

Larry...I may buy a couple more of John's wigwams...I want a small Indian village on one end...but if you get tired of your handmade ones...I will give them a nice home...yours were very nice...

Agree Mike the repainted version of the castle looks more at home with your new setting. I for one would be keeping it especially with the new series Tales of Sherwood on the way, Robin.

thanks Robin...the repaint took a while...I like it so much more than the dark gray one that I'm kind of glad I didn't sell it...

Beautiful scenes Mike. I really like the castle. Well done and all are a pleasure to view.

Duke...thanks...it was a pleasure to build...

Jack...thank you for the comment...

Very nice Mike. I'm currently working on a very large Normandy dio so I appreciate how much effort goes into making a large dio.

Tom

Tom...thanks for the comment...would love to see you large Normandy dio when you finish it...

Bloody marvelous Michael ^&cool:cool:^&cool

Bet you are pleased you never sold the castle now {bravo}}{bravo}}}

All the best

Martyn:)

Martyn...thank you...actually I am kind of glad I didn't sell it...to make another would have taken a lot of time...but I was really afraid my old diorama table would collapse under the weight of the castle and all those lead soldiers...the new table it's on is much more sturdy...

great Mike, I can't wait to see your new FIW setup. I would do the same but unfortunately I do not have enough room, so far I was able to save at least my bedroom!!
Carlo

Carlo...thank you...I have the same problem...like you...my collections have outgrown my house...

Mike, I love your new, renovated and enlarged castle diorama. Beautiful work, as always. Great idea to give the castle a middle east look. Love that you added the village, with the river and the boats. Your other dioramas are also great, but I especially like the Crusades line and middle east theme, as you know. I always enjoy viewing your work. Very inspiring. George

George...thank you...I know you're a huge Crusader collector...you were the inspiration of adding the K&C SP building to the table...I stole the idea from your fantastic set up...

Mike:

Splendid large display! You are indeed a good customer of K&C sets!

Gary

Gary...thanks...K&C makes a good product...now that I have more room...I hope Andy continues expanding this series...

The village compliments the castle so well Mike. Wonderful scenes that flow together. Well done. Chris

Chris...thanks...the transition from the river to village to battlefield to castle worked great...

Tom...thanks for the comment...would love to see you large Normandy dio when you finish it...

No worries Mike and I'm a long way off in finishing my dio but I might post some progress pic's sometime in the near future.

Wayne

Wayne...thanks...after the re-paint...I'm kind of glad I didn't get a buyer...^&grin

I finally got around to taking some pictures of this...
a lot of pictures...
all these photos should hold me til Andy gives me some new figures to display...

I think the new size of this table will hold my collection plus additions for a few more years...

I managed to squeeze in a lot of Life of Jesus figures and a few Ancient Egypt papyrus boats...
they seem to blend well enough for me...

I'm ready Mr. Nielson...
I have space to fill now...
would love a group of 8-10 Saracens with spears for the Cross and Crescent series...
or
civilian Arabs...for your LOJ series...

The colors and action scenes are very eye catching. The castle is beautiful. Outstanding presentation Mike. Chris

Those are superb close up pictures Michael {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Cheers

Martyn:)

Amazing !! This has to be the definitive collection of this series Mike. Like the way you have used AE & LOJ to blend in. The castle is outstanding and I particularly like the river effect. The colour is dramatic on mass too. Huge effort here not to mention the expense{eek3}. Great to see and excellent photos.:salute::, Robin.

Spent the last 10-15 minutes scanning those wonderful photos, just great fun!!! Always thought that this series was one of K&C's best.

Beautiful pairing of the combatting figures and still enough room to get a nice grouping of "civilians" into the scene. Groundwork is outstanding as always. The Castle definitely seems more roomy than in the previous display. The entire display photographs very nicely.

Does the choice in the color of the water remind you of Texas? Or am I reading too much into that!!!
