Lawrence: In my Boxer photos, you will see two boxers running, carrying a ladder in addition to those climbing wall ladders. I will check with Mike Laeding to see what photos he has for Boxer Indian sets.

Tommy, Found the box for the Ladder Set - set no. is BS42T

Dave: BS 3and 4 are now BS31 and BS31V. B3and 4 originally had kneeling and standing firing in each set. He dropped them I guess.

Tommy,

I've got two sets labeled BEQ47, Indian Field Artillery Section. In one set the soldiers are clad in blue uniforms with red piping, and in the other set the artillerymen are wearing khaki. I think the blue set is mislabeled and should be for the Indian Army or Egypt & Sudan lines, because the Indian artillery units serving during the Boxer Rebellion were all wearing khaki uniforms, according to what I can find. However, I don't know much about what the infantry were wearing. I'll try to get pictures up in the next day or two.

Dave

Dave,
Found the box for my set. Even though it is marked Boxer Rebellion, the figures are for the NWF as they are in blue uniforms. Look forward to seeing your set in Khakhi.

Hi Lawrence: have you seen of the Boxer sets I mentioned to Dave earlier today?

Tommy, Have not seen any of the Indian Army sets for the Boxers. I have some Indian Army, but not sure which regiments they are, but their bases are green or brown.

Lawrence: Thanks for the photos. Your first set looks like TEK 5A, 20th Bengal Native Infantry of Egypt, 1882. The second photo looks like it has 2 sets minus a corporal guarding the color of the 127th Baluch Light Infantry of the Indian Army Infantry. Your set could come with or without bayonets. Mine have green rounded bases. I bet you knew all of this.

Tommy, Thanks for the info. Was not completely sure of either set. I purchased many trophy sets without boxes and some that have boxes have the wrong items like the Egyptian Artillery Set. Sometimes aggravating, but fun in trying to figure the sets out. Here is another photo that I am trying to figure out of the Baluch. Figure with the Sargeant stripes is new to me - I think it may be an older version. Also found one figure of Baluch with Sgt. stripes in the advancing pose.

Very nice sets Lawrence;)

Cheers

Lawrence: That is probably the Indian officer I saw mentioned. Great photos and sets.

Well tommy it looks like i identified one of my sets as one of the tek series. Mine look the same but are advancing not firing. Thanks

Alright, guys. Just 7 sets left to identify (unless there are Len's characteristic variations, of course). We're making great progress.

Tommy,

Talked to Mike L. on Monday. He graciously invited to come visit Sulphur Springs for a week and stay at your house. :D Can't wait until Allison Collection Part III is uploaded!

Dave

Dave, I will see if I can fill in the blanks for the remaining 7 sets. Please come anytime to visit. Mike should have it finished next week for uploading.

Dave: More info for your list! BS13 was discontinued in 1987. BS14 is a set of Kansu braves standing firing. BS23 is a set of French Zouaves(blue and red uniforms) under Dragon Crest label. BS28 should be spelled Jingalls. New Figures as of June 1987, were B7C, Japanese Infantry Officer standing loading pistol; B9/A Austro-Hungarian Naval Officer advancing with drawn pistol; B10A German East Asia Brigade Officer standing with flag and drawn pistol; and B11A French Marine Infantry Officer charging with flag and drawn pistol. In 1991,single figures B17 Russian Sailor standing firing(unwounded); B18 French Chasseur D' Afrique kneeling firing; B19 "Thornhills Rough" standing firing a double barrelled shot-gun; and Legation Lady. Also, single Boxer figures could be purchased. This is all I can come up with.

Tommy,

I entered the Dragon Crest set into the line-up. There was an identical Dragon Crest set painted as Turcos Algeriens. I wonder if that set was numbered BS23V, BS23A, or BS24? I'm not going to start listing individual pieces. That would make this a never-ending project. Besides, most of them either ended up in the Legation Barricade set, or were numbered similarly to their parent set with an appropriate suffix.

Gents, we're down to five blanks. Anybody else got any clues?

Dave: DC22 is a boxed set of French Algerian Tirailleurs(Turcos) 2nd regt. wearing all blue uniforms. BS17 is a mixed set of Boxer/Imperial Chinese Army. One Boxer kneeling; one standing firing Jingall and another holding ramroad and 3 kneeling firing in westernised uniform in blue. In 1988 there was a notation that Russian Infantry firing was now set B4D and Russian Infantry standing at ease had become B4E. I never knew that set existed. Finally, BS13 was discontinued. There also references to Boxer Rebellion and numbers assigned to new figures with the notation BR. The single figures I posted about yesterday were substituted in the newer sets. For example, there is no longer a wounded Russian sailor standing firing in set BS30.

Lawrence: Thanks for the photo. I noticed in an ad for the first gate and wall that the two ladder sets came with it. Mine had the new walls and gate but only one clmbing the wall figure and ladder.
