Had a little frost this morning here in south central Wisconsin. Vegetable growing season will be coming to a quick end here soon. Oh what to do with all the unripened tomatoes? Why you have Fried Green Tomatoes and Catfish . . . . and that's just what my wife and I did here for tonight's supper . . . . um, um good y'all . . . . . nothing like going back to our roots . . . .
:) Mike

That is good food. I haven't had either since mom passed away some 31 years ago. She was an Alabama girl who knew how to cook. Thanks for the memories.:smile2: -- Al

Add Hush Puppies and Collard Greens to make Supper at Granmaw's House in NC.

Wife is from Mississippi and knows how to make GREAT green fried tomatoes!:) Chris

Man, Fried Green Tomatoes and Catfish sure sounds good. When I was in college, I dated a girl who was from a deep south family, they owned a house in Nashville that had sinkholes in the front yard from Confederate Cannons as well as a home in Memphis on the historic register. Her Dad loved history, we got along quite well. Her Mom used to send me back to school with a doggie bag of fried steak and mashed potatoes, what a treat. Sad thing is she married a Yankee from upstate NY!!!!!

I know I missed out on great cooking.....................
