Chicago 2018 (1 Viewer)

I’m not sure about the connections/distances from the Chicago Airports to the Show in the Schaumburg Hyatt Regency.
However I gained some experience when I flew to Philadelphia last weekend for the MFCA Show.
A taxi ride from the airport to the show venue cost me a tough $129.00 {eek3}

2 days later, when returning to the airport I used Uber. Thanks to Julie and the Treefrog Crew who suggested that, I got me the App and it was a pleasant experience. A very nice, clean car, a knowledgeable entertaining driver, pick-up time on the very minute, and that entire pack came in at $59.00 :smile2:

I know what I’ll be using in the future :wink2:

Thanks Mike, that's a bugger, I'm starting to regret flying into Midlands! Is anyone else flying into this airport around mid day on Wednesday the 19th of May? Perhaps we could share. Otherwise does anyone know if there's shuttle buses running from Midlands to Schaumburg?

Another option is that I stay in Chicago CBD for 2 nights when I arrive and then make my way from the city to the Hyatt on the Friday. I have confirmed accommodation at the Hyatt for 3 nights over the show weekend. I'm assuming there's good transportation from the city to Schaumburg.

Tom

I looked at Uber. It’s about $60 from Midway. From O’Hare about $30. I think I paid around $40 for Viatas last year. I will stick with Viatas when I go next time (I don’t think I will be going this year).

Tom...

I just called...Viatas is pricey from Midland...$95 one way...

does anybody know what Uber charges one way from O'hare?

I seem to remember around $45 or $50 was what I paid...

I don't know...but I just called it Midland on another thread...^&grin

Now I know where I got it from, you owe me a beer Mike..^&grin

I realize friday is late for most of you guys but I will head to the show friday and
saturday am and can stop by midway or ohare to meet someone and give them a ride to the hotel for free.
My only requirement is it I would like to get there early so morning arrival if possible.

Hi Chuck

Would you consider a pick up from a hotel in the Chicago CBD early Friday morning?

Hi Tom,
I am sorry but Friday morning would have me driving a extra 1.30 or 1.45 in rush hour traffic before I got to you and then another 45 to schaumburg.
And no one wants to hear me swearing that much.
Both airports are out of the way a half hour or so but that I can live with that.
For those looking at lyft and uber a car sevice can almost be the same price here or just a few dollars more.

No worries Chuck, that's fine and I wouldn't want to be responsible for you swearing at the show! ^&grin

Glad that worked out for you!! Long ride but much less expensive than a cab!

Hopefully I can make it this year.
I only went in 2004.
Just made the reservation and missed out on the show hotel, but staying in one next door.
I don't remember the details from 2004. Is there a list with room numbers of "who is where"?
Or are all the vendors set up in a couple of the hotel's floors prior to Sunday?

There are maps that show who is in what room and how the floors are laid out; without one, the floor plan is somewhat confusing.

Dealers are on the 4th and 5th floor of the hotel; most of them are in the hallways off of the elevator bank, it thins out the further away from the elevator bank you get.

Hi all

Has anyone used American shuttle service before?

https://www.americarshuttle.com/order/checkout

I know some companies have been suggested on here but I'm just trying to find the best option (and reasonably cheap one as well) to get from Chicago Midway Airport to Schaumburg.

The quote I got from this company for a sedan ride is $53 plus tip.

Tom ,
If it’s american limousine and coach it’s fine.
53.00 from midway to Schaumburg is very reasonable as it’s close to a 45 minutes drive.
They are the biggest one here.

Well gentlemen, I again hope to see you there, back problems permitting. {sm2} I booked a room and my wife is booking me a flight, so I hope to participate in the fun!{sm4}

Enjoy and hope you make it. I won’t be able to go because of my own health issues.

Brad & Louis mates,
Both of you two old crocks better start taking better care of yourself. What happened to the two fit young fellas I first met in 2010???? {sm4} Take care guys.
Cheers Howard

Great that you'll be attending the show Louis and it's a shame you are not driving there so we can all have a squiz at your hotted up black Jeep!
