I'm doing my best Howard. After gaining a ton of weight throughout the course of being unable to move for 4 years, I have gone on a ridiculously strict diet and lost more than 20 lbs. back (another 30 or so to go:redface2:). I am taking the therapy very seriously and trying to build my core muscles to support my back. I hope to back to my pre-accident weight by my son's Bar Mitzah in December. Any interest in flying to the US for a crazy party in December, I would love to see you and your lovely wife, Cobber!:wink2:

Great that you'll be attending the show Louis and it's a shame you are not driving there so we can all have a squiz at your hotted up black Jeep!

Tom

Tom,

Come to next years NY Symposium and I'll let you drive her . . . {sm4}

That would be cool Louis but in NY traffic and being left hand drive (we drive on the "proper side" which is right hand drive here in Oz ^&grin), do you really want to take a risk on me....{eek3}^&grin

Who said anything about driving her on A ROAD! She likes to play in the dirt . . . {sm4} Maybe I can talk you into postponing your return to Oz and a little side trip to New York after the show.:wink2:

Hmm, your tempting me Louis, off road in some dirt and maybe some mud kicking up rooster tails (by that I mean mud spinning off the wheels and into the air) would be real cool! {sm3}

So let’s do it!👍

Any hotel recommendations? The last 2 times I attended I stayed right at the venue. However, the hotel appears to be booked so I'm looking elsewhere. Preferably, I would like to be as close to the Hyatt as possible.

There is a hotel across the parking lot. I stayed there previously. I forget the name but I’m sure someone will know

I'm surprised the Hotel is sold out but it has to be for reasons other than the Show.

Joe, send an email to Gary (gk5717) or Tom Dubel. They don't stay in the Hyatt Regency.

I had toyed with the idea of going but no rooms at the Hotel kills it for me, as I have to watch how much I walk around. Probably for the best anyway.

Joe . . . I have always stayed at the La Quinta and I know Gary (gk5717) does also. Nice accommodations, less expensive, breakfast included. It is located on the opposite side of the shopping mall that is directly across the street from the Hyatt. Not an easy walk but doable (or quick trip by taxi). I will only be there on Friday and will not be staying over. However, if Gary is attending this year, which he always does, he more than likely has reservations at the la Quinta and probably wouldn't mind giving you a lift since he will have his car with him.

:smile2: Mike

There is a Hyatt Place on McConner Pkwy. - Directly behind the Hyatt Regency. Easy walk to show.

I’m a lazy sack and it was really short. Konrad stayed there as well the year I did. (The Hyatt place I mean, not familiar with La Quinta)

I'm assuming La Quinta is now the Days Inn since that is what comes up when I do a search. The Hyatt Place sounds conveniently close so I might look into that one.

Understandably, I like staying on site as well. Just like the fact that I can hit the rooms and drop off my purchases at my room instead of carrying them around all day. Good to take a break here and there as well.

That is definitely a plus. I like to go back and rest. Now that I have a recurring problem with my feet, extra walking is a negative for me.

Joe, I'm staying at the Days Inn,1730 E. Higgins Rd. formally LaQuinta. As stated it's right on the other side of the shopping mall. 2 nights Thursday & Friday, total with tax $141.92. Free breakfast, micro wave & Fridge.

I'll be there. It will be my 21st Show as Hobby Bunker and my 23 in all.

I have the first floor Ivory Rooms again. Thor will be there from AeroArt and Larry will also be in the room selling books. Figarti will show off their new products as well. We also may have some promotions celebrating my 20th year in Business and I am working on a few other things as well.
