Chicago 2018 (1 Viewer)

Joe, I'm staying at the Days Inn,1730 E. Higgins Rd. formally LaQuinta. As stated it's right on the other side of the shopping mall. 2 nights Thursday & Friday, total with tax $141.92. Free breakfast, micro wave & Fridge.
Gary

Thanks for the info Gary. I'm probably only gonna stay one or 2 nights at the most. Looking at Thursday and Friday as well.

After a bit of a relapse over the past week plus, I had an epidural injection today, which usually gives me at least a month or two of relief, so I should definitely be attending this years show! I can't wait to see everybody!!:smile2::smile2:

Louis great news see you there , are u bringing brad

I am kinda wondering what this years show will be like. Three major plastic dealers will not be there TSSD, Steve Weston & Parragon. As for as I know there is no dinner this year. Last years show was a disappointment in that I did not uncover anything unexpected like I did every other year I attended (26). I'm just a 5 hour drive away so travel expense is not a big deal. We shall see.

I just look forward to seeing old friends. Andy Neilson, Hans Hedrick, Steven Chong, Tom Dubel, Zach, Ken and Erika Osen, Tim Tyler, Matt Murphy, George Guerrero ... I don’t care if I don’t find a thing, as long as I get to spend some quality time with everyone.

Agreed! I like the evenings there better then the show!!!
Hanging on the patio out front has created some epic memories for me.

Ten and eleven years ago I was chicago at the show.
and every year when the show starts I think back to the beautiful remembrance
so I want to wish everyone a nice show.
Richard :salute::

I feel exactly the same way. I was there only once, three years ago, and it was a marvelous trip! Great memories come back when the show starts every year since. Wish you all a great show and most of all a wonderful time together!

I was at the show and really focused on looking rather than photographing so my apologies for no photos to post. Probably the most fun was seeing some old friends and making some new ones as well. It's always nice to put a face with a name. One of the old friends (not literally Andy!) catching up with was Andy. Good to see him again after several years since I've been to a show down in San Antonio. I enjoyed my first Chicago show experience.

Duke mate,
Great photo of your good self and the "Old Fella". Not that I can talk about age. Glad to see you had the Aussies In Vietnam banner in the background. I am still in two minds as too whether the Chicago Show is better than the Texas Show. ^&grin^&grin San Antonio is my number one spot in the U.S. of A. Those big cities of Chicago, LA, San Francisco and New York are not this country boys' cup of tea.
Cheers Howard

Duke, it was terrific meeting you in person after admiring your dioramas on the forum for all these years!:smile2:

Thanks Howard. Being a "country boy" myself I agree with you about the big cities, not my cup of tea either really. I will always remember our meeting at the Menger Hotel in SA where we met you and your wife and had breakfast together. Cheers
