The Cadets of the Citadel pass in review at the South Carolina state capitol. An exclusive by Trophy.

Thank you, Tommy for posting a picture of this set. I have never seen it before the only Citadel Cadets set I have ever seen was one made by American Brigade
(I enclosed a picture).Do you know a story behind this Trophy set? How many were made and for what occasion?

Hi Al: These sets were made for the Citadel with none for sale to anyone else. I think they may have been presented to alumni or visitors. My understanding is that Trophy made these sets for the Citadel for several years. I have seen one set for sale on ebay. I don't have any idea how many were made but I bet not many.

Hi Al: Those are actually three sets.

Tommy
It's what I thought :) , could you please post separate pictures for each set when you have a chance?
Thank you.

I did not know any unit in the whole United States carried bagpipes:confused: is this right? Why? Any info? "'Cause it sounds sweet" is not a good response for anyone who was thinking that;):D

Tommy/Al

I believe Citadel figures are still being produced, under contract, by Ken Jackson.

Cheers

Martyn:)

U.S.M.C. and U.S.A.F. have pipe bands I beleive there is a U.S.A.F. sett. I also believe that the main reason why would probably be because of the amount of Scots and Irish (I know two drone) that have migrated to the United States ove the years. What suprises me is that you don't see Northumbrian pipers, considering the habit of people with a Northumbrian heritage of becoming president (Washington,Armstrong,Nixon, Ford) and of course Dixon of the Mason Dixon line!:D

Yes still making them for the Citadel. The only official figures only for alumni.

Thanks, does anyone have any dates regarding this? So I also just did some research regarding Northumbrian pipes. I have never herd of them before...

Hi Tom,
You MUST know what you can write them off from your taxes after all :D:D
Al

True, but even if you are at the highest tax rate fed and state, that still "ain't no bagin" as my friends up in the Noreast say.

Well... you are right..but I like double positive (yeh, right) more then double negative :) ... it would be quite a Trophy "challenge" to get this set (not from Ken ) : I have a couple ideas I am gonna try :D
Al

Wow. Now I would go to some high levels to collect a range I truly loved. But I think I might have to spend several months in deep meditation and contemplation before I "donated" a couple hundred thousand to them, even providing I could somewhat come up with even a part of that sum.

Just been talking to Ken, these figures are for alumni who would have been donating anyway. Aparently there is one figure where only ten have ever been made!
