An extra light nearby will help with those shots. Turning off the flash then will help. Went through this myself. Lots of help from forum members.

All kidding aside. It is good to have you posting so many pictures of your collection and displays. It adds to the enjoyment of our hobby.

Thanks Guys - I appreciate all the good comments. :)

I plan to do more with those Civil War dioramas - after getting back from Paris.

Hi everyone. Im knew to the boards here but am an avid Civil War collector as well as reading into the history. Bit sorry to change the subject on yall but its a question Ive always had and never found an answer...

I know that the Army of Northern Virginia surrendered their battle flags at Appamatox; did they also have to surrender their state flags? As a Texan I find it difficult to believe that a famous regiment such as the 1st Texas would give up its state flag. But Im not sure as to General Grant's requirement on that subject.

Thanks guys.

I am still struggling with mine. It seems quite hard to find the right balance of camera settings and light:(

That is a good question - my suggestion would be to PM our expert UK REB and ask him.

My thoughts are that ALL BATTLE FLAGS would have to be surrendered - CSA and State Flags - per tradition.

Welcome to forum - do you have pictures of your Civil War Collection ?

I notice the use of a sheet to fill out the light. Do you have any covering over it? Daylight is usually the best source.

Actually all mine have been done with a halogen work light. I would need to take things outside to use natural light in the summer where I have things and in the winter, well everything would have a snowy background. I don't have any winter themed troops yet.;):D

I have some TSSD I have yet to paint. There are not a lot of Winter troops are there?
