As promised a few comparison pics of the CS King Tiger alongside the CS New Wittman Tiger. It is clearly visible that the King Tiger is longer than the Tiger I. Also the overall height of the King Tiger is taller than that of the Wittman Tiger I. A GOOD THING !!! Just as a side note these 2 look great together and with the new upcoming German troops at rest poses these all will make one nice Diorama ! Cheers.............

Thanks for posting the pictures. Good to see them together. Both fine looking models. -- Al

thanks for posting the pics! I have the KT and think the detailing is first rate and the scale appears correct. I saw the Wittman tiger in a shop and it is sooooo tempting!

I have a few pics of the two that I can post if you like. My KT has the Porsche w/zimmerit. I think they look great together!

Thanks for the pics! As nice as this is, I'm still on the fence, and will probably save my money for other upcoming releases. The reason being I already have CS's first Tiger, and I think it's very nice, even if under-scaled. I also have one of the CS KT's. On top of that I have three different K & C Tigers, and that actually feels like too many. I think I might be all Tiger-ed out at the moment!

The Konigstiger was taller and in the pics of the CS sets posted the Tiger 1 looks taller!!!!. Frank Thanks for the conversions that should allow everyone to measure this should they wish too
Mitch

I don't know, Mitch. The head on photo of the two models seems to give the overall height edge to the KT. Can't tell about the deck height. The two models appear to be scaled pretty well to each other, taking into account Frank's measurements. I will be able to tell for sure once I get my hands on the new Wittmann Tiger in two weeks. The two of them sure look good. -- Al

I'm looking at both on my desk, just as we calculated and as is historically correct the King Tiger is fractionally taller.

I think we've established through the threads photos, collectors comments, and as I keep imploring, we have a correctly scaled line of 1/30th AFV's. We worked very hard to bring the collecting community, for the first time, models that match figures.^&grin^&grin^&grin

Cheers!

I don't know about the "working hard" part but indeed you do bring models that match figures .....{sm4}{sm4}^&grin^&grin

My only concern.. well, one of them, is the comment models that match the figures. Rather than all the issues surrounding scale and, its been a problematic issue for this hobby IMO why not scale the AFV's exactly and reduce the well known overscale figures??? Its surely got to be the easier way to progress.

To bad the King tiger was never produced in the ambush camo , i would have bought one in a heart beat !!

I agree completely. Why insist that an object of known dimensions is scaled 1/30 when all the information I've seen falsifies this proposition. If it's been scaled to match the figures then it should be sufficient to state this rather than perpetuating the fallacy that the figures themselves are 1/30 and should be used as a reference frame.
