College Football 2011! (1 Viewer)

Time to pick the big ones:

Oregon 37 Wisconsin 27. The disco Ducks will finally break on through the BCS barrier this year despite the outlandish uniforms they will be wearing. Team Nike's "liquid metal" helmets will stun the Badgers into submission and that will be the difference. Somewhere "mothman" will be looking on with envy: http://www.lostlettermen.com/nike-unveils-oregons-rose-bowl-unis/

Oklahoma St. 41 Stanford 30. OK St. may have the best offense in the country. A real shame they don't get a shot at LSU's D. Luck is good, but not good enough to pull this one off. Stanford was toasted at home by Oregon and this will be more of the same.

VA Tech 27 Michigan 24. Ugh. Do not operate heavy machinery after watching this one.

Clemson 31 WVA 14. See above.

LSU 24 Bama 20. LSU is both lucky and good. They have got it done all year and this should be no exception. Their D is the best I've seen in many years.

Very entertaining Rose Bowl game. Wisconsin choked this one away. Some terrible coaching wasting their TOs and not alerting the QB that the play clock will start before the snap on the last play.

Doug, could not agree more. They should have just run the play, coaching was atrocious, those kids deserved better. Not to take anything away from Oregon either but jeez, would have loved to have seen 1 last play as a fan.

Oh well, still a fine game

Ditto; what on earth are you thinking spiking the ball with .02 seconds left; just run the play already.

What a bonehead that coach is; first he burns a timeout over a play that wasn't open for challenging, then he calls for a spike on the last play.

Another great game in the Fiesta Bowl. It takes three missed FGs by Stanford for OK State to pull it out in OT. Blackmon is a big time receiver. Maybe the best since Calvin Johnson. The guy is unstoppable. And another bonehead coaching decision costs Stanford the game. With a freshman FG kicker who has already missed, they run the last minute off the clock to try a FG when they have the best QB in college and haven't been stopped all night. Why not call a few more plays and at least make it an easier kick? Now on to the clunker bowl with Va Tech and Michigan (how does Michigan get in a major bowl when they don't even win their conference and Boise St. is in some minor bowl?).

I actually had no problem with the decision to go for the kick at the end of regulation. The announcers indicated that he was a highly recruited kicker. However, from the time I saw doing his hand waving thing (I assume that's his normal routine), I had a feeling he'd miss. The most you can do is put yourself in the right position and hopefully he executes like apparently he's done all year. I assume the moment got to him.

Yes, Blackmon looked good but looks like another Santonio Holmes in the making.

The graphics did note that Stanford has two offensive linemen that will be highly rated in the NFL draft.

When I saw him praying on the sideline I thought uh-oh. LOL. Stanford doesn't get back to a major bowl in our lifetime with Harbaugh and Luck gone. That poor kid has another three years there to be known as the guy who blew the game.

What a game! OKST offense scores quickly! Felt bad for Stanford, they blew their chances.

As to Michigan, all about Money, they travel well and have a national following. Also, i predict they beat Beamer and Tech. Beamer rarely in his career has won the "big" game or at least it seems like it, they are always overrated. I vote Michigan in this one tonight.

Wathing the QB play tonight versus last night is like night and day. Enough with the option.

VA Tech was hosed big time tonight by that replay official. It's called a catch on the field. There is no way there is indisputable evidence that it wasn't a catch. A real shame. That kid made a heck of a play.

Just another example of Beamer ball and luck..................Seriously, no matter what the cause, that guy can't win a big one. Honestly, though, I find it hard to believe a veteran coach would stake a game on a 3rd string kicker who by all rights should never have seen the field.

Have to agree regarding the replay, whether it is a catch or not at that point is irrelevant since there was no indisputable evidence either way. That is what I don't understand and never will about replay.

All in all an exciting game.

I don't like VaTech but I agree. That was a terrible call. Looked like a catch to me and there certainly wasn't enough evidence to overturn the on-field call. The officials have lost their edge/will in making calls because of the video reviews. -- Al

It's a shame (I guess) that major bowls like the Sugar and Orange have teams that aren't highly rated. Tonight's game is 15 (Clemson) versus 23 (West Virginia).

I was only off by about 100 points on my Clemson/WVA prediction. That must have been a massacre. Fell asleep during this one and saw the score this morning. Whew. Glad I'm not a betting man.

I watched part of the first half and the first part of the second before I too dozed off. Boy, talk about a game changing score. The final score was like playing a video game.

I have never seen a game get out of hand so fast. Spanning parts of the 2nd and 3rd quarters, WVa scored 7 TD's in something like 15-16 minutes. Pretty incredible. -- Al

The BIG GAME is tomorrow night. What are the predictions here? I see LSU winning this but it could be close. Don't see a blowout, either way. What else could one say after their first meeting? LSU 14-10. -- Al

I hope LSU wins. Ala doesn't deserve to be there. I've heard that some voters won't vote for Ala if they're the winner and it's a close game.

I'm sticking with LSU. They are just too good and Les Miles has the luck of the devil. They find a way to win whether it's a special teams TD or turnover. I think this is a higher scoring game than the 9-6 shootout. Going with LSU 24 Bama 20.

One thing for sure it will be another national championship for the SEC !!! Unfortunately not the Gameccocks (this year ).

LSU 21 -13
