College Football 2011! (1 Viewer)

I turned it off when MD was up 41-14 in the third quarter. They just flashed the score and I thought maybe it was a basketball game! Yikes, that's an historic collapse. Heads should roll.

The AD and Head Coach should be gone, what a joke of a season. We fired a 9-3 Coach of the Year for this crap? Now you know why my family gave up tix after being holders for 30 years. The athletic department down there is a joke and the most of the blame should be shouldered by former AD Debbie Yow, she was the worst. Since I was a member of that department while in school, I have a really visible opinion. It is most unfortunate that my fears from many moons ago have become reality. She killed the athletics there. If they were firing the Fridge, should have at least hired Mike Leach.

My other school , the Seminoles are doing ok, lost a game to VA that we should not have, but oh well, at least the season seemed better than previous years. Looking forward to their bowl game.

Tonight is the PAC 12 championship game. It's rated M for Massacre. LOL. The Ducks are a 32 point favorite. The Bruins have already fired their coach but he is still coaching tonight.

I'm going with Oregon 63 UCLA 10. Now that I've said that the Bruins will play the game of their lives. Expect them to come out with an us against the world mentality which will last about two minutes and then they get steamrolled by the Ducks.

Watched Oregon stomp UCLA but it was a better game than I thought it would be. UCLA hung in for quite a while and kept Oregon from covering the spread. It was bad enough, but not a complete embarrassment. -- Al

LSU looks like they have'nt a clue. Their offense has 12 yards and no 1st downs. I hope they are thanking whatever football God they pray to that they only trail 10-7 at the half. Would be fun and justice to see the Bulldogs win this. -- Al

Well, this sure got out of hand. LSU made a few adjustments, I think.:rolleyes2: A 35-0 2nd half roll kind of settled this contest.:D -- Al

Was too good to last wasn't it? :rolleyes2: Chris

I would prefer to see Oklahoma St. and LSU in the championship game, but it looks like a Bama-LSU rematch is in the making.

I caught the last quarter of the MSU Wisc game. Looks like MSU was poised to win the game when they returned a punt to the 1. But, no, there's a penalty, roughing the kicker. I suppose they had to call it but they barely touched the kicker, real ticky tack. Result? Wisconsin gets to keep the ball and game ends.

It's a done deal at this point. Now, if Bama wins the rematch, who is champion? Bama, because it wins THE big game? They were still beaten by LSU, so that is a toss up, 1-1 tie. Both teams will be 1 loss teams, to each other, so how does Bama get the nod in that case? The only mitigating circumstance I can think of is if Bama routs LSU. A close win by Bama only shows how even the teams are and won't convince me who the better team is. The only way to solve this is OKSU vs LSU or LSU beating Bama, again. -- Al

The NCAA Money Talks BCS has struck again! Expected th LSU-Ala match-up, kinda unavoidable, but a BCS bowl bid to Virginia Tech in the Sugar? Has the world gone mad? VaTech hasn't beat anyone in the final Top 25 and lost twice to Clemson. And Clemson plays West Va in the Orange Bowl. ZZZZZZ. Boise St gets no BCS and Stanford and OkSU get to beat each other up in the Fiesta. Strange match-ups, all dictated by whose team travels well and brings in the fans. SEC rules once more. -- Al

Stanford and OK State should be a good game. I'm also interested to see how Oregon's speed matches up with Wisconsin's power game. Team Nike has struggled against those types of teams in the past. Agree that a 11-1 Boise St. team got hosed. They are an entertaining team and could play with anyone. Instead they are playing a 6-6 Arizona St. team that fired their coach.

Al,
I understand frustration on the AL vs LSU, but they probably are the 2 best teams and the first game was an ugly nearly dead heat. OK ST had a big misstep in comparison. Still hard to see a rematch.

NOW VA TECH, whoa, Beamer loses another big game, that guy can't win a meaningful game it seems. If Michigan plays their game, they blow them out IMO. But who knows, long month ahead!

It is going to be a long month, sort of a "Bowl O' the Day' sort of thing. I'm not against the LSU-Bama re-match as I do believe they are the 2 best teams, just hope on or the other finds the offensive key. Another 6-3 type slugging match will be sort of unsightly for a huge championship game and, in my mind, leave the question of who is the best team up in the air, should Bama win a close 1 to 3 point game. I think Bama needs to win by a good margin to convince me that they are better than LSU, but that's just me. Now, the real game is this Saturday when Navy and Army go at it. Go Navy! ^&grin -- Al

Al I would agree, it actually is a statement on college football. Hate to be on any bandwagon, but there is the SEC and then the rest of the pack!

Oh well, I just hope the FSU vs Notre Dame is exciting, GO NOLES~!!!!!!!!!!

Almost kickoff time for my favorite game every year. GO NAVY! ^&grin -- Al

Army is giving them a real game this year. It's been one-sided in the last few years.

I'm a big Navy fan but Army is really outplaying them. If Army hadn't shot itself in the foot on several occasions, they would be leading right now. I am a little surprised that Navy can't move the ball more consistently. Should be a good final 12 minutes. -- Al

NAVY RULES! 10 straight wins in the rivalry. For the life of me, I don't know why Navy just didn't run around in the backfield on 4th down and kill the last 6 seconds instead of punting and risking a runback or a Hail Mary on the last play. Navy now leads the series 56-49-7. -- Al

Boy, these hundreds of bowl games are a total waste of time. The only one that has been worth watching was the Baylor game, unless you like defense, then it was horrible. What's up with all these 6-6 teams in bowl games? What a joke. At the very least, a winning record should be required for bowls. Which brings me to the biggest joke/laugh/rip-off of the bowl series, the Fight Hunger Bowl, which features the mighty 6-6 Illinois team against the even mightier UCLA team of the outstanding 6-7 record. That's right, 6-7. Why is a team with such a stinking record in a bowl game? 6-6 is pitiful enough, but 6-7? Just a complete disgrace. The whole system should be canned. May as well let every team in the country be bowl elegible. Come on NCAA, wake up! -- Al
