Saban signs to stay. University of Alabama is officially off suicide watch. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Paying $7.5 million to coach football at a state school. Whew. They really have their priorities right.

Best decision he's ever made; just stay there and keep getting the cream of the crop to play for you, pretty simple really..............

Chris, the big game is nearly here and you and I both know that the season record means very little in the Army-Navy contest, but my take is that this year your prediction will be accurate. Navy has played some good ball while Army has faded. I'm Navy all the way but I watch for the tradition and pure fun of seeing the ground pounders and the swabbies play in this rivalry. Ultimately, with these two teams, you just never know who will win. Go Navy! ^&grin -- Al
This went about the way one would figure with Navy winning 34-7, it's 12th straight win in the series. It was a hard game in atrocious conditions. Gotta say I was a little disappointed after the game when during the traditional singing in front of the two student bodies, the Navy sidelines broke out into a taunting '12 more years' chant, rubbing the streak in the face of Army. I am a Navy man all the way, but this particular lapse in class took some of the shine off the win, at least for me. It is the only time in the 50 or so times that I have seen this game that I can remember something like this. Hopefully the first and last time. -- Al

I was reading that Nick Saban (the $7.5 million man) called in Lane Kiffin to assess his team. LOL. Yes, Lane "we aren't playing well" Kiffin. Saban must be a genius. If he does the opposite of everything Kiffin tells him, the Tide will never lose another game. Bama has a fever and Lane's prescription is more bubble screen.

Congratulations to the Middies of the USNA for the 24-6 win over Middle Tennessee in today's Armed Forces Bowl. The Middies end the season with a 9-4 record. Their running game, 366 yards, allowed the Middies a 14 minute edge in ball possession, 37 minutes to 23. A fine win and a fine end to a great season for the USNA. :salute:: -- Al

It was a worthy game for #100. Liked the South Carolina game but was surprised Nebraska beat Georgia. -- Al

Al:

Agreed, that was worthy of #100. The South Carolina game was great too. LSU Iowa was not the greatest though.

I am looking forward to Bama and Oklahoma.

The Rose Bowl was a great game...and for me it's good to see the B1G Ten finally show up on a big stage. LSU played down to Iowa's level. It should never have been that close. Ugly game all around.

Unless Bama is having psychological problems from the Auburn loss, and it is possible that they won't be "all in" for the game, I think Oklahoma might get embarrassed. I think Bama is going to come out with a huge point to prove and OKU is going to be on the wrong end of point. -- Al

Hooray Michigan State on Rose Bowl Victory. There are midwest teams. J

Wouldn't be surprised if Bama takes out their frustration about the Auburn game on OK tonight. I'm guessing Bama 45-17.

My top 3 favorite college football teams are;

3.) USC
2.) Michigan
1.) Oklahoma

Loved the option when they ran it, been a fan since the early 1970's, love the team, hope they can keep it competitive tonight, we'll see....................

Color me shocked. I thought there was a chance Bama could be flat, but they are just being outplayed by OKU. This is the first time I've seen OKU this year and I am very impressed with their offense. The OKU defense has also played big with two picks of McCarron. Never would have thought Bama would give up 31 in the game, much less the 1st half. I'm just shocked. Don't know who will win with a halftime score of 31-17, OKU, but OKU has made a believer out of me, regardless. -- Al

The dreaded "Alabama didn't want to be there" game.

The way these two teams are going, there will be 1,250 yards of total offense by games end.

So far, so good, up 31-17.

Go Sooners.

Impressive win by OKU. Congratulations. Gotta go now and put my brother on suicide watch after just getting him off the last one after the Auburn game.{eek3} -- Al

Tough loss for 'Bama. I am not a fan of them either way but if you get a chance look up the story about AJ McCarron that was on the ESPN pre-game show.

It made me an instant fan of him. If I find the link to the story I will post it.

Agree. It is an incredible story. Can't help but root for success for a kid like that. -- Al

I put the kiss of death on Bama. I thought they would roll OK, but they clearly didn't want to be playing in this game. What happened to defense in the SEC? A couple of years ago Bama and LSU played a 7-0 game. The hurry up offense seemed to throw them off. They were giving up huge plays all night. For $7.5 million per year, I thought Saban might have some answer but he was clueless.

This Orange Bowl matchup between Clemson and OSU has been a very entertaining shootout, back and forth. Not much defense but it sure has kept my interest. I think there has been 1000+ yards of offense, combined. What has happened to the fine art of defense in football, both pro and college? Oh well, offense sells tickets and advertising, I guess. Must say I am a bit surprised that Clemson has won this game. Thought OSU would take it but Clemson has done whatever it wanted to offensively. So has OSU but they were a bit short.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma State vs Missouri game must have been just as entertaining. Once again, no defense with almost 1000 yards offense and a back and forth track meet. Couple of good bowl games leading to the big one Monday. -- Al
