OSU is looking good but the two turnovers have been killers. Oregon could be in deep doo-doo without those turnovers. -- Al
OSU 21-10 at the half. Been a good game. Oregon is relentless and the OSU Qb is huge. It is a best case scenario for Oregon, given that they trail. Those 2 turnovers cost OSU at least 7 points, and Oregon stays close as a result. Second half should be fireworks. -- Al

It is obvious to me that the balls have been sprayed with some sort of OSU repellent. 4 turnovers. OSU has no one to blame but themselves and their inability to hold onto the ball. They are handing the game to Oregon. Unbelievable. -- Al

Oregon simply has no answers on defense.

I just heard a thud. It's the sound of Mariota's falling stock. Bye, bye $$.

Have to say that I am shocked that a team can lose the turnover battle 4-1 and still crush the life out of the other team. Oregon never stopped OSU all night. Only OSU stopped OSU. Got to hand it to the OSU Qb, Jones. His 3rd start, his 3rd win. What a resume. Beats Wisconsin for the Big 10 title, beats Bama for a spot in the championship, then wins the championship. I think Meyer has a Qb for next season. OSU rushed the ball 60+ times for almost 300 yards and 6 Td's. A very impressive and dominating win. Congrats to OSU. -- Al

Maybe the B1G 10 isn't as bad as advertised!

Still trying to figure out why they didn't just take a knee and end it...

Although I now live in Wisconsin, I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and grew up on Woody Hayes football . . . . . GO BUCKS! O H ! I O ! Awesome game . . . .

Well, I had the score almost right. Just picked the wrong team to win. Ohio St. just smacked the Ducks in the face and they had no answer. The Ducks played scared. They looked like the finesse team of several years ago that got steamrolled by Auburn instead of the physical team that dominated FSU last week. At one point turnovers were 4-0 in their favor and the Ducks were still losing. Myers is hands down the best coach in college football since Pete Carroll moved on. Beating Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon with a third-string QB is an amazing feat. And most of the guys on this team are back next year. Harblow is going to have his work cut out for him at Michigan.

OSU won because they pounded the ball, time and time again, and didn't allow the Ducks time to wear down their defense. A few timely throws definitely helped, but they didn't set the pace.

With that in mind, reports today are that Cardale Jones is 'considering' a jump to the NFL. Seriously? He made a few great plays, but he started 3 games...and might not even be the best player on his college team.

On the other hand, throw a couple million at me and I could be talked into standing on the sideline in a baseball cap holding a clipboard!

He's a freakish athlete. It must be nice to have someone like that as your 3rd stringer. He ran over Oregon linebackers like they were bowling pins. But that won't happen in the NFL. He doesn't seem to have much of an arm. It's also nice to be able to hand off to a back who gets over 9+ yards per carry and racks up over 200 yards. That would make any QB look good. Oregon was just overwhelmed by the physical mismatch. Like watching a smaller JV team scrimmage with the varsity team. Humbling. The only positive is that Phil "sweatshop" Knight didn't get to throw a victory party.

What a thumping that was; if OSU didn't shoot themselves in the foot with 42 turnovers, they would have won by five touchdowns.

There was one play on a fourth down where the OSU QB bowled over the Oregon nose tackle, who outweighed the guy by 60 pounds.

They destroyed free shoes, they couldn't stop them to save their lives.

So much for all the whining about OSU backed in and shouldn't have been there, they manhandled two very good teams and won the championship.

My son kept saying to me that he'd like to see how Mariota plays when he's behind because he's never been behind in his college career.

The kid was right. He or Oregon couldn't play from behind. Mike Francesa of WFAN made the point this afternoon that they have a certain way of playing and that when they are thrown off their system, they don't know how to react.

Agree with George about the notion OSU backed in, the 4 game system shows the playoffs work, but in my personal opinion think it should be a 8 team playoff system, as there were some great teams left out, there will always be someone on the bubble looking to get in that was left out but certainly a top 8 would be an interesting way to settle who's no. 1...Sammy

Eight would be great, get rid of the stupid conference championship games and go with eight.

The beauty of that is at some point, the 8th seed would go on a run and win a championship and that's the beauty of sports, a Cinderella steals the show....................

that's what makes the March madness so much fun, the underdog steals the show, or a bottom seed kills a no.1 or 2 seed, not that the NCAA Football needs 64 teams (be fun though) :) as this first year of playoffs shows, who picked OSU to be over Alabama, Oregon, Florida State??? bring on the Horn Frogs/Badgers of the world...Sammy

The sports world seems to get quiet after this game. Except for the NFL (which is only on Sundays from here on out) there really isn't much. It will be a while until the NHL and the NBA playoffs, baseball is dormant and March madness is 2 months away.

There is ONLY one sport here in Bluegrass country, college basketball. UK has a good shot at another title this yr. They've show some vulnerabilities this past week, but are still the front runners. Chris

It is a bit of a slump, which really highlights just how meaningless the NBA and NHL regular seasons are. No real excitement to the regular season when 95% of the teams make the playoffs.:rolleyes2: This is a needed rest before all the playoffs kick in, spring training starts, and before The Walking Dead and House of Cards come back. :wink2: -- Al

I don't agree that the NBA and NHL seasons are meaningless. Here in NY, the Islanders are doing very well and cleaned the Rangers' clock last night at the Garden. It was a hard ticket to get. Unfortunately, the NBA teams stink here in NY this year. Otherwise, I'd probably be watching.

Leave it to the Islanders; they finally have a decent team and they're leaving Long Island.

I also saw the Russian who bought the Nets a few years ago is looking to sell the team, he's losing his shirt.

Guess all those hard core basketball fans in Brooklyn aren't turning out by the thousands to watch his mediocre product, so he's bailing out.
