College Football - 2014 (2 Viewers)

Bama had some good chances in the 4th but blew them. G'night y'all.

An 85 yard long nail in the coffin. This is why I don't bet money on sporting events...I'm always wrong! Never would have guessed this result. Congrats to OSU. The championship game is going to be a good one. -- Al

Bama's QB was not good enough, bad choices and poor execution doomed him.

Agree but they had 4 chances to score and take the game back. Play calling did not help him at all. They were running all night long, why not continue.

Warden Myers is a winner. A great football coach. OSU had no business winning that game with a third string QB. Just having a player of that talent on the depth chart doesn't happen at most schools. A terrible bowl season for the SEC. Auburn, LSU, both Mississipi schools and now Bama get beat.

Alabama's OC had better lay low for awhile; why pass after that terrible punt set them up inside the 30 yard line. Plus it was an awful throw on top of it.

That decision will haunt them; plus, they had two safeties, one of which the QB escaped from, the second I thought they had, but lost it on some subjective BS forward progress rule.

No excuse losing to a team with a third string QB starting in his second game; they should have done something to confuse him on the defensive side of the ball.

Good luck vs Free shoes OSU...........

And for once the B1G 10 showed up during bowl season! They got hammered all year as being weak, but when the chips were down the top teams stepped up with Wisconsin, Michigan State (perhaps the only team ever with two losses to have them be to the two teams playing for the championship), and of course OSU taking care of business.

How in the world did MSU win??

For the past decade the SEC has been THE conference, but with so many going pro early that was not the case this year. The Mississippi schools showed themselves to be frauds.

I love how, when showing the best wins a team has in the year, they show the ranking of the team at the time of the game. FSU gets to have #5 Notre Dame as an elite win. It doesn't look nearly as impressive today.

Happy here . . . . . Grew up and lived in Columbus, Ohio all my childhood and early adulthood . . . . . . Now live in the Madison, Wisconsin area. OSU and Badgers are favorite teams in this household . . . . . to say the least, it was a great day of Bowl games for us.

In the BCS era, it would have been Alabama vs Florida St. for the national championship. Two teams that lost last night. There is no way Ohio St. or even Oregon even gets in that game. As much as I would like to blame Lame "victory cancer" Kiffin for Bama's loss, it's hard to win when your defense gives up nearly 600 yards and over 40 points to a team with a third-string QB. The days of the mighty SEC defenses winning championships appears to be over. We are in the age of the hurry up offense. Even teams like USC and Notre Dame that play pro style offenses have made the change to a hurry up style.

Good points, no doubt, but if Bama runs when they got the ball on the 23, game over. Also, FSU turns the ball over 4 times beginning of second half, equal killers. My opinion there could have been 8 legit teams in this, but there were 4 good choices.

That's where I'm at with this; first and ten at the 23, the momentum is on their side and they run that idiotic roll out pass that gets picked off.

Ballgame.

Idiotic play calling there.

Bama was toast when they lost two starting linebackers; they got torched by a third string QB making his second start.

I was hoping for Bama/Free Shoes as it would have been an entertaining.

This has blow out written all over it.

SC fans still refer to Kiffin as "4th and 2" for his infamous decision to pull Reggie Bush and run up the middle with another back late in the game against Texas on a play that would have clinched the Rose Bowl and national championship. Instead it got stuffed and Vince Young won the game. Kiffin is an arrogant dunce with his bubble screens and Denny's play calling menu but Bama shouldn't need to convert a play late in the game. They should have been up three TDs against a third-string QB. The D they had a few years ago would have shutout this Buckeye team. A FG would have won it. The D play in the SEC has fallen off to an amazing level. The Bama-Auburn game this year was like watching TCU play Oregon. A sea change in college football.

I'm going with the Ducks. Probably big. Myers may be the best coach in college football, but can't see him pulling this off again with a third-string QB. Oregon will surprise with a more physical team than expected.

The pick: Oregon 43 Ohio St. 24

Will be watching and rooting for Ohio State. Don't know much about Oregon other than seeing them in one game, but I know that if their uniform batteries die then they lose the day-glo quality of the uniforms and thus their super power. Here's hoping they don't use the Energizer. Go OSU! -- Al

My initial thought is that OSU will get killed...but I thought that last week too and we know how that turned out.

Hoping for a good game.

Following my Pac 12 roots here in Arizona will be pulling for the Ducks, should be a great game...Sammy

I gotta take the Ducks...they are - 6...but they can really dominate a game...as can Ohio State...they just seem faster and more electric to me...this should be a really good game...

OSU is looking good but the two turnovers have been killers. Oregon could be in deep doo-doo without those turnovers. -- Al
