College Football 2017 (2 Viewers)

I fell asleep in the 3rd quarter thinking the Dawgs had it in the bag. And woke up this morning to find they somehow lost. Brutal. I wish I had some words of comfort for GA fans but that one has to hurt. A real soul crusher. You don't get many chances like that.

I can’t imagine it could be any worse with back to back soul crushers in the Super Bowl and NCG in the same year, basically. Unbelievable. It makes me wonder how foolish it is to tie up so much energy and emotion over something which I have zero control and influence. Grrrrrrrrrr

I can only hope the universe owes us a big payback. Hopefully before I check out. God forbid we’re permanently snake bit. It sure feels like it right now, I must say.

I used to get worked up about certain teams that I followed, but it occurred to me that they are just a random group of guys playing some other random group. The only difference is the uniform. It doesn't make much sense to have an emotional investment in any team even though that is easier said that done. In college football at least some of the players are the products of the regional high school system but even that is increasingly not the case. For example, the freshman QB for Alabama last night is from Hawaii. He has about as little in common with the state of Alabama and people there as you could get.

I was impressed by Bama going to the freshmen at halftime. Tua, Najee Harris and Smith are all true freshmen and really pulled it out for Bama.

All season I have been frustrated by feeling Bama relied on Hurts’ legs too much and never giving Bo the time to really get in rhythm.

Man, that is a tough way to lose. I have to feel for Rutledge, Duke and all Georgia fans.

Obviously, a great win for Alabama. I’m sure your brother is ecstatic Al.

Man that was brutal, tough one for Duke and Rutledge and the whole state of Georgia, what on earth did they do to deserve back to back football nut punches.

I thought Saban was going to commit a homicide on that stooge kicker, two brutal misses, the second was worse than the first.

Imagine a true freshman coming into that game and performing like that; he's a God in Alabama now and forever.

That was a tough one to swallow.

WOW, Duke so sorry, but it was a great game and I thought GA had it. Also thanks for sharing your photos, truly cool. I was a part of the U of MD program and regardless of how I feel about Terps football today, they can't screw up my great memories!

As to last night, holy smokes, what a game. I have to give it to the AL Freshman QB, he had the right mojo for last night. How Saban pulled a 25-2 starter and knew to do it in a close Nat Champ game at halftime is beyond me. He is a wizard for sure or just lucky, not sure, but he somehow knew to do this. I guess the same way he should have beaten Clownsome last year by firing Lane Kiffin.

Anyhow, my son and I last night were pulling for UGA 10 (we love the bulldog) and the Kicker did his job and put them in a position to win. THe D Line I thought had Bama, but that pass, holy moly.

Tough one, but a great year and Kirby will have them back and playing, no doubt there, GA is on the rise for a good bit of time to come.

Thanks Tom.

Yes, Saban made a gutsy move by putting in the freshman QB but like you say, he somehow knew to do that. That was probably the difference in the game. If Hurts stays in, I think we would have won no question. Our D was shutting them down while he was playing and they didn't seem to have an answer.

Thanks for pulling for the Dawgs, and yes I think we might be good for years to come... at least I hope so.

Will do the only time I route against a bulldog is when a certain Seminole Indian is involved!!!!! Anytime else, Uga has my vote, who could root against a face like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My son and I still crack up in the beginning of the season when it is hot, they always show Uga and his "Ice Bag Lounge Chair"!

Reading that Keith Jackson has passed away. My favorite college football broadcaster of all time.

Good day for Navy football as the most successful coach in program history, Ken Niumatalolo, has decided to stay at the USNA instead of taking the Arizona job. :salute:: -- Al

He is a great coach and I enjoyed watching him on "A Season with Navy Football" on Showtime. You get the sense that he really cares about his players and he takes pride in the program.
