Here are some quick photos I snapped this evening of the tanks I received today. The detail is exquisite and speaks for itself. As the first photo shows, it has been weathered very well. I don't have any First Legion tanks but this is the best detailed tank that I've seen. If you purchase this tank be careful with the turret because it snaps into place on the main body and forcing may break it.

Wayne, guarantee you'll love it. Can hardly wait until Chicago to see what John has in store for this range.

Yep me to Chicago is going to be great, hope he dosn't stop with just this Tank.

Detail is fantastic. could you show the turret off if possible as I was concerned as soon as I read that bit about a snap turret.
Mitch

Mitch,

Yes I can but I don't want to take the turret off if that's what you mean. At the bottom of it there are two pieces sticking out that fit into slots on the main body of the tank.

Brad,

That is a fantastic model by the look of it......what an entrance into the world of AFV's!:cool::cool:

Hi Brad

Thanks for the pics. As I have said before JJ Design had done a great job on this release. The WWI fighter planes also look very promising. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on how it rates against Figarti who also do some finely detailed models.

regards

stephen

A superbly made set of models. The details like the weathering and track sag are just outstanding. Nice purchase.:D -- Al

Brad-
I see you have 423 and 424. I thought I had read that 423 would be available only later. Oops. Never mind saw your answer on another thread.

jazzeum...

Thanks for that just good to know what to expect when it turns up at my door. Sounds like once its on its best left

jazzeum Thanks for taking the time to post the photos ;)
That one great looking tank , does it come with metal parts ?

UK Subs,

According to the September release originally posted by Sierra, it's made of "Mixed Media, includes Polystone, resin and metal," which I take to mean a combination of those substances. I would have thought it was all resin but it seems like John has come up with something different than any of the other 1/30 manufacturers.

Fat-boy also asked if the detail was better than Figarti. It seems to be because of the modeling nature of the tank. Since I think the tank is more resin than anything else, and Figarti and others use different substances, it may not be necessarily fair to compare this tank to others who use polystone and metal.

I'll leave that determination to others, however. All I know it's a great piece :)

How do i get #423 ??

The first batch is mostly 424. I was told only 50 are numbered 423. The second batch which may not be until early 2011 will be mostly 423.
Some Jenkins dealers including Treefrog may have a few 423 now from the first batch.

Terry

What is the difference between the 423's and the 424's?
Mark

None, just numbering, in case you want to build a squadron.
