I found this barn in the back room of The Toy Box in Madison for 7 bucks. It was a shiny red hard plastic, but I saw the potential. Once I had it painted, I then got around to painting the New Ray farmhouse I've had since Christmas. Put them together with the great Britains scenics and I've got a pretty good 19th century farm set up.

Getting a scene just right is a process of trial and error. (I'm jealous of Mestell because he gets such clear, in focus, deep depth of field shots so effortlessly.)
This shot is a little closer but still not as sharp as I'd like it. I need to get further away to take the shot but that will mean moving a bunch of stuff to make room. Or maybe I'll give up on the early morning lighting and change backdrops and use more light.

You are certainly on a roll Joe. Great use of your day off from work. Once again, terrific photos . . . . . also, thanks for the compliment, I wish it was effortless :wink2: . . . . .

10th Century???? Then there should be Saxons and Vikings runing amok down that country road  LOL, I know this is a typo and you really meant 19th century . . . honestly, I am trying to behave myself, just couldn't help it Joe ^&grin . . . .

Ran across a group of photos which could have been taken by any of the following Yankee Photograph Mathew Brady, Alexdar Gardner, George Barnard, Timothy O'Sullivan or James F. Gibson. You'll note the Black and White Photos which may have also appear as Newspaper Photos in any of the leading Newspapers of the time.......The Lt.

NEAT! The lower two look like late 1800s magazine lithographs.

Those are fantastic shots, the black and white really give it that old look. But those color photos, get you excited.:)
