Conte North West Frontier 1879 - 1900 Series (3 Viewers)

Joe,
I would have to disagee with your reasoning.
If the 3rd figure is a seperate item the collector will save money if he chooses not to buy it. With him as part of the set he will obviously increase the overall cost of the set. As mentioned if RC likes the set with 3 that is the way he will do it.
This is a set that I can see some buying for the "novelty" value even if they may not be getting any others in the series. It is getting a good laugh from some of my shop visitors who have served in Afghanistan. I would obviously like some of those type of buyers to go for it but the 3rd figure may affect their decision.
Regards
Brett

But Brett you must agree if a collector likes the figure he'll save money and I'm sure you'll also agree as a set it makes for a nice mini diorama. Got a good hunch that once the set makes it's appearance some of those type buyers will go for it if not all. I'm sure the lads who served in Afghanistan are getting their laughs from the look alike figure of Bin Laden in the set. Hope all's been well Down Under.

I'm pretty confident the days of endless delays are history, at least for the metal sets. What's going to be interesting is to see what the rythym of new releases in all the various ranges will be. There's so much history and so much imagination and yet the market will only consume so much new product at a time. It shall be interesting.

All the new stuff rhis year by Conte is really good.I really am into NWF.The Zulu War not so much but the sets are great.I like later war ACW.I'm not really into Zouaves.I really like the Roman/Barbarian set but don't think I will collect them.

Please keep posting more of those great NWF setups/photos. They are an inspiration.

Here are the Conte catalog pages for the Scotland the Brave series that was the basis for the new metal NWF figures:

These are rather nice looking figures. Captures the old British stiff upper lip and all that, what! ;)

I do not know this thread was going on. Missed out on a lot. I love the Conte style. I have quite a few of the earlier ACW stuff. Times have been a little challenging when it comes to buying figures. I will find a way to get these when they show up. Whenever they show up. They will be worth the wait. I do not care how long it takes.

This picture almost captures what I had in mind as I carved the mountains for the background of the Gordon Highlanders photo shoot. I say "almost" because of the need to put that darn rock on the base of the flagbearer to keep him from falling over from the force of the wind that was blowing. The next morning I got some shots without the rock, but the sunlight was not directly on the figures like it was that Saturday afternoon.

That picture is beautiful Joe...nothing wrong with that shot...great set up...nice clarity...

I gather from the above that you take your photos outside then?
