Conte North West Frontier 1879 - 1900 Series (1 Viewer)

"I gather from the above that you take your photos outside then?

Jeff"

Jeff, I don't usually take pictures outside. Usually I work in my basement. This was a special circumstance. These shots were taken at Richard Conte's home in North Carolina a couple of weeks ago while my wife and I were visiting the Contes. My wife wasn't real happy that I filled the whole trunk with the mountain pieces, so I didn't think I better press my luck and fill part of the backseat with lighting equipment. Therefore, we set up outside and I am so glad we did. I also was trying out yet another new camera that I think I'm going to be pleased with. (I got it for my wife, but you know how that goes...)

Here's another shot I like. I've been posting more photos of upcoming sets on my blog on the Conteco.com site as I get them adjusted to my satisfaction.

Joe,

Thanks for the reply, sounds like you had fun! This looks like the beginning of a great new range. Any idea when these will be available in the UK.

Jeff

I have given up trying to predict release dates. Yet it seems within the realm of possibility that at least samples of the figures should be able to be seen in Chicago in September at OTSN. Stay tuned...and if you're really interested, go to the Conte site sometime in August and pre-order the sets you're interested in. That way they will be shipped to you as soon as they are available.

Joe

Jeff,

I think I will get this series as well. It looks like WWII will take a back seat for the rest of the year for me - too much colonial.:D

Awaiting with interest the Pre-order page.

Andy

The only thing with Conte's preordering system is that they don't have the prices.I want to get this series but I can't get it all at once but if I knew the prices I would know how much of the range I can afford at one time.

Check out the latest update on the North West Frontier www.conteco.com Once again Conte's at his best. STAY TUNED........ The Lt.
This NWF series is amazing. One of my favorite theaters of war. Who doesn't like "Gunga Din" or "Lives of A Bengal Lancer"? Just great looking soldiers. -- Al

Great new figures, just wish they release something in this line to be going on with in the meantime. No point in giving us 20 sets at once with most not able to budget for such a large outlay.

Robin I'm sure you'll find like his Zulu War Series not all 20 sets will be available at the same time.........The Lt.

Joe, I think these came from the 1897 publication and I only have 1882 and 1884/1885;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

I bet the folks at home reading the paper would have been shocked to see a photo of a soldier in the process of being shot. There might me a call to bring the boys back home. Keep up the reporting. Cheers, Robin.

Always no date of arrival?

It's due to the fact like in all cases Conte's got to receive the factory Sample production runs for approval once accepted the factory will provide him with a date he can expect them to be shipped. That's the reason General Custer the arrival dates haven't been made available from time to time an if you've visited his web site you'll notice he's been announcing the arrival dates of all his new sets once he's goteen word from the factory...........The Lt.
