I just bought a 1/32 Mosquito on ebay awhile ago, I will take pics. The thing is MONSTROUS. I was really shocked at the size.

Also, coming shortly to the board is a 1 of 3 in the world Holz Modelbau Junkers. It is all wood, pretty cool plane, I will post shortly. This thread reminded me of it.

Tom

Yep, I suspect the mossie would be to big for polystone.

Corgi said today there be making a new 1/32 die cast Mosquito VB , Me 109 & Battle of Britain Spitfire
I think these will go well with K&C range

As do I! I love this kite as much as the Beaufighter if not more. Here are some more shots of what the new Corgi version should look like...
Tally Ho,
Beaufighter

NOTE #1: Looking at a pic of what claims to be Pickard and his aircraft (coded EG-F) on the morning of the attack, she appears to have a high demarcation which would suggest the MSG/DG scheme.

NOTE #2: "HX922 was finished in the Standard Night Fighter scheme. Medium Sea Grey and Dark Green. Code letters 30" high in Sky. Note however that at the time of the raid the flame damping shrouds on the exhausts had been removed so a patch of bare metal was visible around them.

Gentlemen,
If in the reissue of the 1:32 scale diecast of the Supermarine Spitfire (The Aviation Archive series) Corgi can maintain the quality control of the original production models, at only a modest increase in price, they have a real world-beater. In 2002 I purchased their Spitfire, MK IA, for the then princely sum of $125.00 USD. It set a museum level standard for both detailed moveable parts and accuracy. No commercial model manufacturer (diecast or other media) has come close to replication. It has a removable engine cover revealing a detailed Rolls Royce Merlin engine, sliding cockpit canopy and hinged door, detailed pilot, removable wing gun covers with detailed .303 cal Browning machine guns, moving flaps, rudder, air brakes, ailerons, elevators, retractable undercarriage with rotating rubber tires, rotating rubber tail wheel (in two axes), and spinning propeller. I have read recent discussions regarding the incorrect wing dihedral in many models, this model got it right. The model is an identical replica of a actual surviving aircraft on display at RAF Hendon Museum. That aircraft is X4590/PR-F, 609 Sqn RAF, Battle of Britain, Sept 1940. For those who may be interested there are many definitive references on the Spitfire. In order to adequately appreciate this model I would recommend two; SPITFIRE, Bill Sweetman and R. Wantanabe, Crown, New York, 1980 and SPITFIRE, Flying Legend, J. Dibbs and T. Holmes, Osprey, Oxford, 1996.

I had all the Mosquito's & the Mustangs but sold them on for the lack of room & my love of tanks :D

Thanks for the Corgi links. I've got the 1:32 Lewis Hurricane and Hackl Bf-109. I like both models very much however they are HUGE!!! That does pose a serious problem if one wants to collect a great number of these planes. I think the 1:48 and 1:72 series are great alternatives for planes. I really like the WWI planes but never got to collecting them. When K&C announced they were going to make planes my days of picking up Corgi's were over. I'm now eagerly awaiting their upcoming product releases and have purchased the Spitfire. I've definitely caught airplane fever lately.
