Re: Creating Mini Dio to Photograph Fort Niagara

1759-The 27th Foot garrisoning Fort Niagara in the dead of winter

Nice job. where did you find that great winter photo of the fort? And how did you make the snow/ice covered ground which is most impressive and realistic?

Randy

Nice picture Lt, the colors are very bright....Frontline and WBritain hand to hand at Isandlwana

Hi Randy,
Sorry for the delay in responding to your question. I found the image of Fort Niagria on Google Images. Concerning the snow, actually I was really disappointed with the way it turned out. At first I mixed wood glue with a little dish soap and applied it to the foam. Then I sprinked the snow on the base. The glue did not stick so I scraped it off. Finally I mixed the snow with white paint and applied it directly to the foam. It worked, however, I do not know how to make deeper snow drifts. The snow is from Woodland Scenics, I recommend getting the shaker size.

Best wishes,
Benjamin

You've ticked the Zulus off again my Lord General and it's not just a couple of them this time they're after you butt....The Lt.

Nice background picture. Love those Jenkins figures. That one is certainly one of my favorites.

"A loaf of bread and 2 pints of milk please."

Storekeeper is going to be in for a rough time isn't he?;)

That's a whole load of Zulus Lt. Looking good, and I'll await the defenders being strategically positioned.

Cheers
Simon

That is quite the setup, did you make the storehouse yourself?

Personally though I think you need a few more Zulus :D

Joe, have you ever thought of placing some cattle in your diorama's? That kraal looks awfully empty.

Brit I built the storehouse using Chard's drawing of his map for guide lines and do I still need more Zulsu on the attack or do I still need more? Joachim I'll be stocking the kraal with members of the 2/24th......The Lt.
