That is great!!!. Do we have a Sarge from the 3rd Regiment East Kent or an 80th Staffordshire Volunteer!? Must keep on the lookout for this set! Mike

My lord General Kilwille the smoke was done by Joe Baker aka playsetaddict who enhanced my photo. Got to learn how to do the same. In the mean time here's another photo from the set up with the Lt. defending the kraal.......Your Aide De Camp......The Lt.

Joachim those are some nice figures. Who made them?

They are my no-matter-if-they-loose-paint-while-handling photo figures from A Call to Arms. I highly recommend them if you are into gloss like yourself. There are five sets available.
One is Conte, and the brit beating the zulu is from laststandminiatures (metal kit).

Mr

Joachim,

I'm just like you in the main application for CTA figures. Paint them up and have a good time with them. If a couple are wounded or KIA, the battle is not lost.

Lt.
I love how you darkened the rear of the storehouse front and have light coming from the engulfed hospital! Accurate to time of day.

14 miles to the northeast, Lord Chelmsford can't figure out what happened.

Mike

mini-dio

Joachim,

It just came to me! Call to Arms guys are the "extras" in our productions. Did you paint the Zulu bodies or gloss them up? They look great! Mike

For extra's they get a very fair treatment; a full coat of enamel matte brown as a base (don't have the number handy) with the colors painted with Vallejo acrylics.

After that either clearcoated matte (which is a silky matte) or glossy. Both acrylic. It darkens the matte paint.
I'm glad you like them. The ACTA sculpts may seem simple to some but have a certain finesse that gives them a nostalgic toy soldier style when painted (imho). A must have to flesh out the backbone of any 54mm amabutho.

The safari guy with the red hat band, what is he using to whack that Zulu?

Mr

Lt.

I think the "safari guy" is getting some attention! Is it a Rocco Conte design? Is he having fun on safari?

I also like the photo without light. This could be the time of the eclipse of the sun around 1pm at Isandlwhana. Mike

Here comes some help!

Thanks for the help Mike can sure use it:):):). Ed, Harry and Mike the first figure is one of the two figures representing members of the Natal Native Contingent in Conte's Keith Rocco's Rorke's Drift Set one and you'll note it's supposed to be a Martini Henry Rifle with a Bayonet. Both rifles and bayonets were poorly done throughout the two sets but still a keeper. The second figure is by Frontline of Coporal Schiess and features in two of The Winners of The VC Sets by FrontLine. My Lord General all of the figures in the dio are by Cliff Sanderson a few by Hinchliffe and others by Monorach......The Lt.
