Spent some time setting up and taking a number of mini photo dio's and taking a number of photos to get the effects I wanted. As you'll note I've set up for my photo shoot by my window in my Drift room. Using my hospital to place my backdrop photos on. Using natural lighting from my window and when it was necessary my wall ceiling lighting. The photos were taken again using the MARCO setting on my camera with no flash to take the photos. You'll note a small calculator, mealing bag wall and a spaghetti box which I use for my tripod when needed. I'll be posting the photos I've taken throughout the forum and hope you'll enjoy them and find my method of photo taking helpful....The Lt.

Joe

A really nice example of doing a lot with a little. I like the over the shoulder view too.

Thanks for your comments Randy as he turns about as two fellow mates of the 1st/24th join him while he once again reloads his Marini-Henry.....The Lt.

I think what I admire most is your creativity - that is something you cannot buy or acquire.

I like the idea of using a sheet of plastic on top of the gras matt. I think that is very innovative.

Thank you for all the ideas and suggestions that help people with less creativity.

On the 24th of April 1879, the HMS gunboat Forester is conducting sounding manuevers on the Zululand coast 45 miles north of the Tugela River. A large party of Zulus appeared on the shoreline and opened fire on the launch boats. The soldiers and sailors returned fire and returned to the Forester. The main guns opened up from the gunboat, sending the Zulus into cover. The Forester returned to the area several days later and performed the landing survey to establish Port Durnford for the 2nd invasion

Thx for sharing pics of your set up. In my opinion the single most important aspect of photographing dioramas is having the proper amount of lighting - which you show here very well.

Thx again,

Jim
