Brilliant photos as usual Lt.
As I've said before, I don't collect glossies, but they do have their own merits - and they're nice to look at in both KV's and your posts.

Best Regards
H

Thanks Lt . The LL zulus are nice and smooth looking. There is a Kingcast set of Melville saving the colors I have my eye on. I should very much like to buy it. I have to get the price on it. When I get it I will post a pic or two. I need to get a nice back drop. The Kingcast set will be a Christmas present to myself.

I like the fellow on the left. The fellow in the centre seems to be laying down on the job! CS Bourne, put that man on report! When we were shot we did not go dying and all that bother.

Shouldn't they call it, "almost saving the colors" if I remember correctly those guys got killed and one of them received the Victorian Cross years later, post humoulsy of course.

eborris your correct both Lt Melvill and Coghill lost their lives while trying to save the Queen's Colour of the 1/24th and both not just one were awarded the Victoria Cross posthumously....The Lt.

Yeah, but I'm old and my memory sometimes fails me. I just couldn't forget someone named Teignmouth.

In a way they did save them as a patrol would find them lying in the river all worn. But the zulus didn't take them as a trophy. So M and C did do something right. Except for abandoning their comrades. But that's a point of debate. Let's keep the heroic version alive.
The set pictured is a very nice action packed set with a lot of drama. I don't think I ever saw a Kingcast set. Good luck obtaining it KV.

WB take note ;)
