Creating the Battle of the Bulge.....Wacht Am Rhine (3 Viewers)

The After the Battle series are fantastic, with some incredible photos and very good text. I have the Battle of the Bulge Then and Now and Ruckmarsch: The German Retreat from Normandy Then and Now and they are fantastic books. Their US agent is RZM Imports (www.rzm.com) although you can get them from Amazon. I got both from RZM. There is also a two volume edition on Market Garden that looks great.

If you search by publisher, you should be able to find their books.

Brad, my usual reference for both these threads are these books - the Market Garden I picked up at the museum in Arnhem - it wasn't cheap but reminds me of our visit all the time.

I bought the bulge then and now in Normandy although I have been to many of the Bulge sites. The story I have been telling of the battles for Krinkelt and Dom Butgenbach are lifted essentially from this reference.

The grendiers made the most of a tough situation............

Great shots again Panda.
Can I ask how many shots do you take to get them as good as these or have you got it down to every shot's a winner. Awesome!

It depends upon time but also the light. A few days before Christmas I had time - the day off - and the light was fantastic. I took nearly 1000 shots, most of them pretty good, it is just a pain to reduce them all!

This was one.

I think using a sniper to speed the troops up is a bit of an extreme measure though...:D:eek:

Depends whose army.........

I suppose we could always say 'the last man in Krinkelt gets to do the lying down in front of the King Tiger gag...':D

Or the GIs might be near.....

Or he could have seen Rob Styles.......

Panda, how you bring your huge DIO outside and how did you set for have this wonderful daylight?

I have the dio set up against a good big window - the only secret.......

Meanwhile, the traffic was building up behind the stalled advance, and the stalled divisions were soon to have new routes across the Meuse allocated to them as the Germans realised the Americans were dug in too deep with too much artillery support................
