This is a policy that I don't think makes a lot of sense. The person who posts the most here is, in all likelihood, Rob. I looked at his post count and counting back from today his 250 started on July 4.

Rob is one of the great persons on this Forum, perhaps the hobby. Why should he be punished. I also like to post but my 250 goes back to late May. Although I have my moments, I wouldn't (although others may disagree {eek3}) classify myself as a troublemaker, so, again the innocent are being unfairly victimized.

Going back to Rob again, if the assumption is he posts the most, if the point is to make sure that people don't dominate the discussion, this policy is unlikely to do that as the alleged trouble makers are unlikely to post 250 in a month.

If the concern is over the K & C section, then focus on that area as most other areas are trouble free.

This policy brings to mind the phrase "throwing out the baby with the bath water."

Beau, I'm back already:wink2: I'll cut back a bit to allow me the posts to do Dispatches, panic over.^&grin

Rob

Rob,

Great news. Disaster averted! No extra therapy needed. As you Commonwealth gents say, "Keep Calm & Carry On." Finally got to use that phrase on my wife-made my day! Forgot to mention earlier that all of the new K&C RAF releases have caused issues as I find that multiples of some will be needed. Great sets indeed.

Climbing ^ Angels Two Nine,
Beau~

My wife found fault this morning with my contribution to domestic duties.

I said 'fine, but you only have seven posts left for the day' and then laughed (I generally find myself very amusing). Mistake One.

I explained my joke. Mistake Two

'morning Jack - know how you feel - something about all the empty K&C boxes in the 'spare' room after the last photo session; can't get in the dog house because the dog still wants it {sm4}

Perhaps deletions could count as 100 posts and Rob (or anyone also able to post at the speed of light who might beat him to it) posting the pictures from dispatches might not count at all?

What are you doing {eek3} You have just squandered one of your limited posts on a single word. {eek3} What a waste.

I predict the limits will

1) Encourage much longer posts to make them worthwhile. No more posts that just say "nice dio"
2) cut down on photos from the toy soldier shows
3) Allow people near their posting limit get nasty and suffer a short suspension to match their overposting time out. Can't hang a man twice.
4) Dramatically reduce the activity on the Forum as several prolific posters carry a lot of thread dialogue.

Drat! I've run out of comments - the rest of my post is blank and wasted.^&grin

Interesting.

I could have predicted you two would do that. :rolleyes2:^&grin

Terry

You could...but you didn't!

You know if you endlessly edit a single post you have unlimited opportunities to express an opinion!

Brad, you are a good friend and I very much appreciate this, as the member with most posts I guess this is partly aimed at me. Lots of people have asked me (I'm told one guy on another forum routinely insults me because of it) how can I have posted 22,000 posts, the answer is as simple as it is painful. For almost twenty years I've had a back injury following an accident at work, for many years I had spells of weeks at a time laid up at home just waiting and waiting for it to settle again. During these weeks the forum was not only an enjoyable hobby but a lifeline to friends and other collectors in the hobby, on these days and in various discussions I could rack up thirty or forty posts a day no problem, a lot I know, but it helped stopped me going insane!

Perhaps deletions could count as 100 posts and Rob (or anyone also able to post at the speed of light who might beat him to it) posting the pictures from dispatches might not count at all?

Although said in some humour Terry has a point here, I doubt I will be able to post so many pics from London anymore.

WHAT!!!!! only 8 posts a day, 250 a month??? hope that only applies to words and not dios, I shall not be able to swamp the forum ever again, all is lost......{sm3}:wink2:{eek3}
Wayne.

I have obviously missed something in regards to the new posting restrictions. What is the point behind restricting the number of posts a member can make in a given period? What will it accomplish except to bring some of Terry's points to the surface? I don't get it.^&confuse -- Al

Well, here's another potentially unintended victim who just brings his dios to us for our enjoyment. Why should Wayne suffer? ^&confuse :rolleyes2:
