275 years ago this week the '45 was finally broken at Culloden, as some 2000 Jacobites perished as the highland charge faltered against the left of the Hanoverian line.
Thus ended the last battle on British soil.

The background is the Culloden battlefield itself which i took on a visit a few years ago, with the first shots showing the view that would have been seen from the Hanoverian line......

best, Andrew :salute::

What a great diorama Andrew ! :salute::

Just needs a wee bit of photoshopping replacing all the Scottish faces with Nicola Sturgeon's ! {sm4}{sm4}

Does not have to be their faces..................

An absolutely outstanding display of a very colorful JJD range. The backdrop, the staging of the figures, and your photography skill all make for a wonderful viewing. I tip my hat to you Andrew.

Magnificent. This is one of my favorite lines from JJ along with Battle on Snowshoes. I don't believe there have been any releases in a long while, though. I wonder if it is effectively done?

yes with the exception of Bonnie Prince Charlie himself, no new releases for several years.
I would very much like to see some highlander casualties as that would open up more diorama options; alternatively
some highlander cottages and domestic non-combat figures - much like we have seen for the FIW ranges.

I posed John a question about more figures for this range a couple of years ago, and he said he was going to do Scottish cavalry (Bagot's Hussars or the Prince's Lifeguards), but by now I am not to sure if it is still in the pipeline.

Amazing collection, composition and photography- stunning in its scope and brilliance!

Always been my favorite JJD series, what with the dynamic action poses and the color, the many flags, and those wonderful kilts. You have a fantastic re-creation of the battle with great POV shots. -- Al

I visited the site a few years ago and i always remember thinking the charge across the heathland would have knackered me out, never mind the fighting. Which according to some historians it did have an affect.
