Delhi Durbar 1903 (1 Viewer)

I have a good size collection of Durbar
All Beau Geste because of the offering of so many
different elephants and figures
The only pieces that i find would go with Beau Geste
is the Britain Lord Curzon and Viceregal party elephant
same size as Beau Geste but different sculpture for elephant
Britain has more detail elephant the rest is very similar
i was tinking of sanding the Britain elephant to look more like the Beau Geste one. Din't do it yet. They are the only pices that i would add to my Beau Geste series. As far as mixing with others , out of question
Big difference with Beau Geste Britains and Malborough figures
But each his own i have nothing against that
U can compare Britain Curzon elephant with Beau Geste one
Let me know what u think

Maple Leaf,
I completely agreed with what you said. Beau Geste Durbar range (including the elephants ) is absolutely "historically" correct because Ana based this range on actual 1903 Delhi Durbar photographs. All other Durbar ranges are mostly "historically" incorrect and I personally do not mesh them with Beau Geste figures and other Durbar figures I commissioned privately. Please do not get me wrong every Durbar collector has "rights" to display Durbar figures the way the like it :)...
In regards to the Curzon elephant, it's probably most compatible Britains elephant for Beau Geste range but they did not make it right: a drape and Lady Curson dress colors are not correct and an elephant size is not correct: this elephant was the largest elephant in the parade! Well I guess, we can not ask much from Britains after they completely "ruined" this range by making 60 mm figures and painted them matte.
IMHO.

Gentle Friends,

It has been a couple of months since any postings appeared on this thread. I think it might be timely to bring this thread back to life by posting a few photos of some of the Beau Geste 1903 Delhi Durbar figures that reside in my collection.

The photos you see below present the figures as they appear in one of my curio cabinets. I am especially proud of them and I hope you enjoy viewing the pictures!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Always a treat to see your figures my friend and as much as they look great in the photos I can only imagine what they look like in the flesh.
