Hi Guys,

Back in 1973, during the ‘Yom Kippur War’, General Ariel ‘Arik’ Sharon was called back to active service and led his reserve armoured division in a stunning counter-attack against Egyptian forces in the Sinai.

After smashing the enemy’s armour there his division crossed the Suez Canal, against orders, and attacked the Egyptian defences on the opposite bank.

Here are the first two production samples of our K&C Israeli Centurion ‘Sho’t’ tank in action taking the surrender of a sand-bagged, Egyptian T55.

Divisional Commander Sharon goes forward to inspect the Russian- made tank.

All the best,
Andy

Little does Sharon know how persuasive the Egyptian can be with his plans to sell him the Tank at a special price ! {sm4}

The Centurions look great.

Steve

WOW, great looking model Andy.

Reminds me of when I collected armor in 1/50 scale. I had all the Solido Israeli and Egyptian? armor, many based on French vehicles. And Polistil made a terrific 1/50 scale Israeli Centurion with movable metal tracks.

The T55 is a little blast from the past . . . Andy released it after 9-11 as part of the Special Forces series. Mine is being overrun by U.S. and British forces on a diorama Andy and Gordon made for a toy show in Germany (with a one of a kind SAS Land Rover):

Andy mate,
What a beautiful way to wake up and enjoy my tea and toast than the sight of some new Centurions. Great work. Can't wait to get a few of these added to my Israeli Armoured Division.

Cheers Howard:salute::

Was ut a T55 or T62?

Very happy, down for at least two Centurions.
Not to be greedy but hopefully both the dug in T55 and a full bodied one would really enhance this series.

Rich,

Based on Andys first post, he identifies it as a T55. I don't know enough about Russian Tanks to know the difference, and I'd have to dig the box out of storage to check.{sm4}

It was originally listed as a "T-62".....the only reason I ask is because I was excited to get a T-55 for the 1967 War
and thought this might be a new model. Upon inspection I saw it was from the Special Forces release.
Maybe Andy can clarify.

It is a T62, but someway at the time K&C produced vehicles slightly smaller than 1/30...i believe the real T62 is at least as big as a Centurion.

T-55 Tank Length: 6.20m Width: 3.37m Height: 2.32m

T-62 Tank Length: 6.63m Width: 3.30m Height: 2.40m

Centurion Length: 7.60m Width: 3.38m Height: 3.01m

Centurion's length above does not include the Aussie Mk 5/1 which had the long range fuel tank attached at rear taking the length to 8.30m

Yep, T-55 is not that large of a tank really. Centurion would be a larger tank. Here I am standing alongside a T-55 to give scale reference.

Thanks Howard and Duke...The Centurion is a noticeably larger tank than either of the Russian ones.
Best wishes,
Andy.

So does that mean we will be getting a full model T-62 or T-55 in Egyptian or Syrian markings?
The suspense is killing me!
The IDF Centurion looks great but needs some adversaries......
