Sad update, after 70 years of being open Vesuvios has closed. The first time I was there I was a fetus. "Vic's" in Bradley Beach has now taken over 1st place.

Not really dinner here but some amazing deserts made by my wife the last few days have added to the waist line, caramel/ cinnamon popcorn, honey glazed brown sugar cinnamon walnuts, pumpkin pie, apple pie, chocolate cookies, pumpkin spice bread, she gives a lot of these items as gifts but of course nothing leaves the house without a good taste tester and people asked me why I like the holidays?!!!...Sammy

Well I took the day off for football playoffs and grilling!!! I cut myself 2 thick cut porterhouse steaks for me and the Mrs. Corn on the cob, baked tater, home made rolls and cheese cake for desert!!! Good food, good games, great wife, thanks to Mario 9-11 reminding me of this thread...Sammy

Last night it was the classic New York Strip, baked potatoes, a lovely mixed salad, and cookies. After a week of -20 temperatures, it was fabulous to break out the grill! It may be been 20 and snowing...but that didn't hurt the steak any!

Tonight I took a lead from Sammy and grilled (the weather was perfect here today). I grilled a rib eye along with some yellow and red peppers.

Last night I had pasta with homemade marinara sauce given to me by Evan (from Sierra Toy Soldier) and his family. It was absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It just might be the best I have ever had and I am not exaggerating.

Well getting close to that Superbowl Sunday so planning my dinner for the game, changing it up this year and going with pulled pork Bar-b-q, honey spiced wingettes, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and Hawaiian honey rolls, and Cinabon sticky rolls for desert!!! With of course some cold chillys and 4 cheese dip/chips to get the pre-game started!! Lets go Seahawks!! Wayne loves to buy First Legion about this time each year ...Sammy

Well getting close to that Superbowl Sunday so planning my dinner for the game, changing it up this year and going with pulled pork Bar-b-q, honey spiced wingettes, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and Hawaiian honey rolls, and Cinabon sticky rolls for desert!!! With of course some cold chillys and 4 cheese dip/chips to get the pre-game started!! Lets go Seahawks!! Wayne loves to buy First Legion about this time each year ...Sammy

It is never too early to plan out a Super Bowl meal! I was not going to watch the game (still bitter about my Niners) but I got invited to a party and I need to bring something.

I am going to make my famous trailer trash dip, you take two cans of chili and heat them, add half a pound of shredded cheddar cheese and half a cup of sour cream and stir. It is great for dipping crackers and chips etc.
