disappointed with blondi (1 Viewer)

Wow, this is getting a lot of posts / views but the Cromwell thread might overtake it.
The parrot in the Streets of Hong Kong series did not seem to cause so much interest !

Blondi aside I saw the entire "Burghof" set today at a local shop. It makes an impressive display. Really like the patio and SS waiters even though it may not be everyones cup of tea. No pun intended.;) Nicely done.

It seems there are not many parrot owners in this forum.
:D

Having had a chance to see Blondi in person as my stock arrived awhile ago, I really do not see what the fuss is all about, the dog looks fine to me. The picture that has been on the internet is taken from a bad angle IMO and does not flatter the dog, it looks much better in person.

Eeeeerrr.....we caught some itinerant street entertainers while we were standing in the queue for a taxi to get home from the pub last night.
Managed to get a surreptitious snap of them performing while we were at it.
They seemed to like parrots.

George,
no offense, but pure bred Sheps appear by and large majestic, alert and stern. This sculpt shows a puny, cowering dog (IMO). Again, as you know, huge K&C supporter, but not every item can be perfect and this was a great idea, it just doesn't live up. Figarti's Shepherd is a much better likeness. I think this is a matter of opinion, I would venture to say that people like me who look for these type of releases are disappointed, those who really don't care about the dog add in, just don't care and that's ok, everyone's collecting tastes are different. It is all relative, if this release works for some, more power to you, it just doesn't work for me.

I believe my view is an objective one, but again, all opinion is truly subjective and I respect your opinion.

I have to agree with Tom - this dog is a great disappointment. All of you know how I feel about King & Country ... so I don't state this very lightly.

With all the German Guards and German Guard Posts - a robust - alert German Shepherd would have been great ( and we still might have that chance - from Andy's comments ! ) ;)

I think dog figures are a great idea and hopefully we will see more - like in the WWI Range.

The blondi figure - just has no appeal for me - IMHO.

Tom,
Understood; when I popped him out of the box, he appears to be better looking than in the pictures. As far as him cowering in the presence of the Fuhrer, who can blame him being around that whackjob; it's widely known that the dog was in fact terrified of Hitler, which is a credit to the dog as animals have a sixth sense when it comes to humans.....;)

I seen the Berghof in a local shop today. I thought it was very nice, looked better in person then in the pictures. Also the dog is not really a big deal to me I would still buy the set. If Andy does another then thats ok also. Hitler figure was very nicely done.

Ok, I never thought of it that way, looking at it from that perspective, makes good sense. Too bad he didn't rear up and bite the idiot in the posterior!

Tom......you don't mean that, and give poor Blondi blood poison! I just

watched Valkyrie agin for the second time (Redbox) and it really makes you

wonder if Fate doesn't really have a hand in how things workout!

If the bomb in the plane had gone off, or if the ploy had been successful

what might have been the end results?

I was quite suprised to learn of the large population of Germans in Brazil from

Uthred!

Maybe Blondi overheard the generals say that there are no dogs allowed in the underground bunker. :)

Am I the only one that thinks a "Hitler at his summer place" set is a little sick ? What is next................"Adolf and Eva's wedding night"?

I agree with you about the first, but wouldn't mind the second, as their "wedding night" involved cyanide and eating a luger . . .;)
